I have head squirrels….

I guess I have to go to the school nurse.  I hope Zim doesn’t steal my *organz* LOL.  Ok.  So, yes, I do have a squirrel on my head.  A pretty “hya blue” squirrel, too.  Just in case you haven’t heard, Hya is closing the old silentsparrow group and creating a new VIP group (~silentsparrow~ twittery birds) with a L$250 join fee.  The subscribo group is still available for those who don’t want to pay the fee, but the group gifts and Lucky Bird will only be available to the VIP members.   Hya said that the old group was just getting a bit too unwieldy and people weren’t receiving their notices.  As a thank you for switching over, Hya has put a little gifty in the new group’s notices – the aforementioned squirrel.  There are two Lucky Birds now as well – the old group’s is in its usual place, and the new group’s is near the fishing hole.  I tp’d over to try once more to snag the Lucky Bird outfit.  Wouldn’t you know it?  The *old* group bird had my letter, but I had left that group to join the new one.  So, I found the new bird and after only a 3 minute wait, it changed to my letter.  Whoooot!  I’m a lucky bird.

Isn’t it precious with the hat (from the Profile Picks Reward gift) and the squirrel?  I also had to show you silentsparrow lovers these Grim Bros. shoes.  Lookeeeee!  They have little blue birds in the heels!  *Squeeees* in delight!  Here’s a closeup coz they deserve one.

Nymphetamine Steampunk’d Me

I don’t wear much steam punk attire, but I appreciate the genre immensely.  The cogs, the brass, the steam, the flying ships.  Think H.G. Wells and his amazing time machine.  Did you know he was one of the first people to own a bicycle?  It was a new contraption back in his day.  Paeoti Pomeray of Nymphetamine has created a new steam punk ensemble, which it is my pleasure to show you today.  I must gush a bit over the *hat* – love it!  You don’t need to wear goggles or the typical monocle – it’s part of the hat.  And again, the skirt features that wonderful bustle that Paeoti does so well – oval layers of tiered fabric and rosettes surround your hips so lusciously.  (And big plus in my book – it needed *no* adjustment! We must have the same size hips.)  I’m also wearing the choker that Paeoti made to complement the dress, with its lovely spiderwebs of lace, ribbon, and metal.  And you can’t see them because they didn’t make the final cut in the photographs, but I’m wearing Grim Bros. awesome Vapor Vanity Luxury Steampunk Heels.  I’ve shown them to you before – they are the most amazing shoes *evah*.

And because this is a steampunk outfit, I did something I rarely do. I went “on location.”  This photo was taken at Tesla Isle inside one of the vehicles run by the titular Tesla coil, shown behind me.

Those *Boooooots*!

I know.  I know.  Those boots are all over the feeds.  But, ffs, look at ‘em!  They are soooo deliciously broken in.  And yes, everyone has felt the need to show the *pink* ones!  I must admit, I vacillated so long over what color to choose, “Pink is so impractical; I should buy the grey ones.  But oh, those red ones are awesome, too!”  As you can see, I chose the pink ones.  (And thank you, sweetie, what a gorgeous Rez Day gift! *smiles*)  Of course I had to build the outfit around the boots… I mean, it’s all about these boots, isn’t it??

I started with the Chinese Takeout blouse – all the House of London stores are having a $50L Birthday Sale on all pink items, plus a few non-pink items, through November 24th at midnight (so, runnnnnnnnn!)  - that includes Pink Outfitters, Cherry, Chinese Takeout, Fresh FX Body Shop, The Shore Shack, and Sugar & Spice, by the way.  I added this delicious hair with knit cap from Tukinowaguma.  The cap is color and texture changeable in like 125 ways.  (Yeah, I played with it for 45 minutes. *blush*)  The pants, you’ve seen on the feeds before, but I love black and white, so these were a “no brainer” for me – the Skene Pants from Shampooo.  The Jill gloves are a free group gift right now, and the DECO Cat’s Meow glasses were a recent $50 Linden Friday (or one of those other day-of-the-week sales – seriously, who can remember?) item.  (I apologize for my tortuous use of parenthetical expressions.)  The necklace was the Globe Hunt gift from KessKreations many moons ago.  AND it’s on sale in its original color-changing glory right now, but you’re going to have to run if you want it because it’s a very limited sale.

And for the first time ever, I acknowledge the posemakers – arguably the most important but least acknowledged people in SL – these poses were recently on sale at both Adorkable Poses or Code Red.  (Hint, you must visit Rouge – that sim is so sexy/funny.  Walk out of the shop and fly up and pan around.  You’ll see what I mean. *wink*)

Smexiness by Nymphetamine

Have you heard of Nymphetamine?  Paeoti Pomeray has only been designing under that brand since 2005! Omg, that’s a long time in SL years!  I only recently heard of the shop, and that is thanks to the new store manager, Stacy Maracas.  It is her job to get the word out about Paeoti’s lovely creations.  Let me show you a few of them.  The first is a recent Midnight Mania prize – mmmmm *pink* – *hot* pink!  Des <3’s pink. I love the textures, and yes, they are hand-drawn.  I can almost feel their nubbly goodness.  Smexy! But when I saw the next two items come across in a notecard, I had to *run* to the shop to check them out.  You know I’m a sucker for black and white, as well as red and black – add a bit of goth/burlesque yumminess and I’m *sold*! For these next two, I’m wearing Ivey Deschanel’s new Plush skin – the VIP Group Gift.  It works quite well with the style of the lingerie, I think. First up is the Paeoti Flirty Fanny PeekABoo Bordello Set.  And, let me tell you, I love, love, love that skirt/bustle.  The little tiers of fabric with the lace, rosettes, and pearls – mmmm.  The top also comes on multiple layers so you can bare your bewbs if you want.  Note – the gloves worn do not come with this outfit, only with the Foxie Fanny set shown next.

Another Rez Day Outfit

So, after I did my Poppins Jump, I had to get dressed.  I mean, I couldn’t run around the grid bare-arsed nekkid, now could I??  So, this outfit started out with the comfy cozy scarf from Kunstkammer – this one only a linden for now.  Grab it quick!  I added the gift sweater from Moonshine at Winterstock, along with one of my all-time favorite skirts, which is on sale right now, from Nyte N’ Day.  I couldn’t resist putting my Sn@tch Cowboy Boots of Evil back on.  I just can’t seem to take these off for some reason.  I just love ‘em.  And this is how it turned out:

Of course, I had to put on my Happy Birthday Tiara from Dark Mouse and my birthday cupcake “hat” from Milestone Creations.  All in all, it was a nice beginning to my third year as a resident.

Happy Rez Day to Moi :)

Yep, yesterday was my second rez day, as I mentioned at the time.  I promised a Rez Day Jump photo.  So, here it is.  That was fun.  I hope that I can be as fearless in my first life and my second life as I was during this jump.

And just to make you all ROFLMAO, I submit to you, the first pic I ever took of Des, when she was just born, two years ago.  This was actually taken on orientation island.  Being a child of the 80s, I chose the “Goth Girl” avatar coz I used to be one.   I remember having no clue what those brown things were on my ears (they’re headphones lol).  I was just thrilled to pieces when I figured out how to remove them.  As you can see, I had absolutely, no f*ing idea what SL was all about when I first joined.  OMG, thank goodness for the nice lady at Mischief Isle who threw me a few landmarks for freebie skins and clothes.  And let me tell you, back then freebies were nowhere near as nice as they are now. SL and Des have certainly come a *looooong* way.  I can’t wait to see what the future holds.

New Lingerie by Amacci

So, I finally got a review copy dropped on me.  lol  Yeah, I’m a lazy blogger, as you all well know.  I blog when I *feel* like it, and when I have *time*.  So, I don’t blog as often as most people on the feeds seem to.  But, anyway… the news is Amacci has created its first ever lingerie.  And they’re off to a nice start – basic bras, panties, garters, and stockings, lovingly textured.   I can’t wait to see what Amacci comes out with next.

The lingerie comes in 8 lovely fall colors.  The green one is discounted for a few days at least.  The sets come on several layers and are mix/matchable – you can wear the panties without the garters, and the stockings for each color come in black with the top tinted to match the color of the set, or an all colored pair.  I’m wearing the colored stockings in these photos, and as you can see, they are quite sheer.  Here are a few more colors, plus a derriere shot.  Not shown – the black set.

Today also happens to be my second rez day.  Tomorrow begins my third year in SL.  I can’t believe it.  0_O   So, I thought it appropriate to post in (almost) my birthday suit.  Tomorrow I’ll post a real birthday suit pic – my Rez Day Jump with my Poppins Umbrella.  lol

Not my usual

Hello, lovelies.  Content theft… it’s a ubiquitous word on the feed these days.  I’ve been wrestling with my thoughts lately.  Do I support the boycott or not?  Is it better to support my favorite designers or to boycott all sales to show that I don’t support stolen content?  Well, if you put it that way….. I *guess* it’s better to support my favorite designers.  Should I blog? or should I stay silent in support of the boycott?  I wanted to blog yesterday; hell, i was even upset that so many bloggers were posting yesterday.  Honestly, I spent yesterday organizing my inventory – supporting the boycott.  But today, as I read some very insightful blog posts, I have changed my mind.  It is better to support the designers.  If the designers want to boycott LL – create no content for a time – that’s their prerogative… they are sacrificing potential income to make a point, and I respect them for it.

Some say that education is the key – if people realized how much content theft hurts both the SL economy and the morale of the creative people who contribute to SL, maybe fewer people would support stolen content.  I think that’s a start.  My biggest issue, however, is not with those that steal content to resell – to make a linden. That’s despicable, true.  The motivation there is greed, pure and simple.  No, my issue is with people who copybot and *give away* – full perm – to anyone and everyone.  Why do these people do this?  It’s because they are anarchists.  They have no respect for others because they see SL as “just a game.”  They mock those of us who “take it too seriously.”  These people are completely unreachable by any education campaign because they know *exactly* what they are doing and why.
