Catch Up Post No. 2

Yep, I’m still playing catch-up now that I have a few days of freedom because of Easter. Tonight I’ll show you some neat items I picked up at this month’s We Love Role-Play, which is open until a new round starts on May 4 (minus a day or so to set up the next round).

My piercings, armor, and boots are all from We Love Role-Play.  The Íneach and DevIyn piercings come with the cool facial tattoos for a tribal look.  I’ll show you a better picture of them below.  The armor is by Ravensoul and is very well-made.  I feel quite protected wearing this. 🙂  The Ara boots from Just Design are yummy thigh-high flats, perfect for scampering through the woods on a hunt.  They come in several colors, including this version in ecru.  My hair is a recent grab from the Cutie Moon Fair – Tableau Vivant’s Moon Hair in the Spring colors pack.  Even though it’s made for Sailor Moon characters, I think it works great for many other uses.  Honestly, Tableau Vivant is one of my new favorite hair stores.  I love how they step outside the box a bit and try to create something unique.  Plus the mesh styles are perfectly done.  Close up time!

Isn’t the hair pretty?  I love it!  Oh, and !deviousMind makes amazing, unique creations, too, don’t they?  After the last Fantasy Gacha Carnival in February, I ran around wearing all the various styles of this cool Harpyia outfit that I had won.  For some reason or other, I never got around to blogging it.  So, I’m glad I was finally able to put an outfit together with it.  And one more to show you the piercings even better…

Love it so much!  There are actually three other styles of piercings from Haus of Darcy that are available at We Love Role-Play – all absolutely fabulous, as usual!  I’ll probably show you the others sometime soon, but don’t wait for me (lol) – go check them out yourself before WLR is over!

Cutie Moon Fair Ends Soon!

I’ve been so, so busy in RL that I haven’t had time to blog about the Cutie Moon Fair, which ends on Monday, April 14.  You still have a little time to stop by, so make sure you don’t miss it!  Even if you’re not a fan of the popular, long-running, anime series, you should go just for the beautiful build.  Ok, so here’s my little cosplay of Sailor Mars from the Sailor Moon series.

Violent Seduction did a whole set of the Sailor Moon characters’ dresses, from Sailor Mercury to Sailor Venus, plus the ultra-cute Chibi Sailor Moon.  I chose to do Sailor Mars mostly because I thought this hair from Wasabi Pills, which I had in my inventory, was pretty close to the character’s.  Plus, Sailor Mars usually is pictured wearing heels instead of boots, and I wanted to show you Violent Seduction’s cutie pie heart heels, which are for Slink’s mid-height feet.  Naturally, they were a perfect match for the outfit, since they’re both by the same designer. 🙂

My skin is a recent purchase at the Skin Fair (now closed) from Lara Hurley – her Ivy skin in the Milky tone.  I was pleased that there were appliers for my butt and my Slink hands and feet, plus I thought the skin was a nice balance of beauty and innocence.  The little beauty marks I’m wearing are an add-on for the skin that’s included in the folder.  Very sweet.

Fitted Mesh is Awesome!

My darlings, have you updated your Firestorm viewer yet?  If not, you may start to crash as fitted mesh (formerly known as “liquid mesh”) become more popular.  Apparently, if someone wears fitted mesh around avatars who are not running the latest viewer, he or she may crash.  I’ve only acquired two fitted mesh outfits so far, but I already prefer them to the old mesh items.  No more having to change my shape to a predetermined size (none of which actually matches my own body dimensions).  Tonight I want to show you my latest fitted mesh acquisition – DE Designs’ Thyri dress.

Oops!  I got caught in a downpour! See how my dress is just skin-tight? 😉  But seriously, the fit is amazing.  I had no idea my avi was so thin!  For a not-so-thin RL person, I fell in love with my little avi all over again. lol  Thyri comes in three colors – the purple/black shown here, as well as all black, and brown/black.  And if you can’t use fitted mesh yet, it also comes in regular mesh in 5 sizes.  Everything about the dress is just scrumptious.

My hair is from Tableau Vivant for Collabor88.  I love the style – different but not ridiculously so.  The pulled back, very loose pony can work with a variety of styles, and the hair tie is color change, of course.  How about my skin?  This is from (red)Mint.  It is!  It’s not just for RP’ers!  This beautiful skin is called Ivy, and it’s the Powder tone, makeup number 4.  (red)Mint does lots of different tones for each skin, and always includes at least a few fantasy tones.   Take a better look here…

 

I’m wearing my SLink hands and the tone matching with the skin was effortless since (red)mint has appliers for most mesh body parts.  Easy Peasy!  My beautiful nail appliers are again from ZOZ, which you’ll find has nail polish at many of the weekly and monthly events at great prices.  Check them out – they’re really beautiful!  My piercings are, once again, from the inimitable Haus of Darcy, who makes the most bad-ass piercings in SL!  My jewelry is from another fave of mine – LouLou&Co.  None of the jewelry is new, just beautiful pieces I had in my massive (160K) inventory.  LouLou and HoD are two of my “go-to” designers when I’m looking for the right accessory.  Finally, my boots are from Lapointe & Bastchild, another of my favorite designers, and again, they’re not new.  Ok, one more closeup, and that’ll be enough for tonight.

Serafilms’ latest movie-inspired event is in progress, focusing this time on Moulin Rouge.  If you haven’t been yet, go soon because the event ends on March 31, and the offerings are awesome.

I never thought I’d want a mesh booty.  I find the ginormous butts and hips running around the grid simply cartoonish, and I prefer realism in SL.  Then I discovered that not only did Luck, Inc. make the “phat azz” but also the “cute azz.”  I tried the demo, and I was sold.  Honestly, I’m looking at my avi’s butt when I’m walking around shopping, so why not have a nice one? lol  The lovely skin I’m wearing, once again from Lumae and available at the Skin Fair, has an azz applier, so it was wonderful putting it all together.  I picked up my outfit at the aforementioned Moulin Rouge event – this is the Rouge outfit from Razor.  It has both regular pieces as well as appliers for the azzes (is that a word?) and lolas.  I’m wearing the applier on my cute azz, but my boobs are still plain old vanilla SL default.  I think the outfit is beautiful in its simplicity.  By the way, the outfit is black, but with all the atmospheric shaders on, the light gave it a purple glow, which I liked. 🙂

I’m also wearing my new SLink hands (yep, I succombed to that, too).  They really are beautiful, and even I agree that the default avatar hands are hideous.  I’m wearing the elegant style and I’ve applied some beautiful ZOZ nail polish.  My necklace is a gacha item from Lolapop called Blood Moon in the blood color.  Nice!  I also picked up the strange, spindly wings at the Luck of the Irish Gacha Fair from UtopiaH.  Finally my hair is from ploom, the sort of slutty Bambi hair that I picked up at Whore Couture Fair recently.  It comes in “normal” colors, too, and I have no idea why I felt the need to buy the pastel pack.  But, I hope it works here.  Closeup time!

 

I’m such a lazy blogger, really. Look at that ridiculous golden rope hanging behind my ear!  I really should have gone back and taken another closeup shot sans rope.  (sorry, folks).  But anyway, you can see my pretty HoD piercings in that cool red color, as well as Lolapop’s pretty choker with the bats and shiny silver crown, etc.

Souled Out, Morphine, et al.

Hello, lovely ones.  I’ve been busy both in RL and SL lately.  The marking period came to an end in RL, so I was busy grading; as for SL, it’s been hunts and fairs and festivals – oh my!  One cool outfit I found in a hunt is from Souled Out for the Mysteries of the Sea Hunt.  I know – not exactly a mermaid outfit, is it?  That’s why I had to nab it and show it to you!  The outfit consists of the mesh dress *and* the boots – what a bargain for only L$5!  And you have until April 10th to find it.  I also spent some time doing the Black Crowes Hunt (how could I resist?), and picked up the really nice choker (among other jewelry in the folder) at Adoness.  Cost?  L$10.  You have just until March 25th to grab the goodies in this hunt.

My next outing was to the Luck of the Irish Gacha Fair – soooooo much good stuff there!  I picked up the awesome wings from Arise and the nicely crafted legchain from Death Row Designs.  But I wasn’t finished shopping!  Of course not.  There’s always more to grab in SL, so next up was the Skin Fair.  Isn’t this skin from Morphine just lovely?  If you’re looking for a “normal” skin – for non-roleplayers, non-goths, etc., then my pictures here don’t do Morphine’s work justice because, believe me, the skin is gorgeous.  I’m wearing Morphine’s new-for-Skin Fair Ghail skin with the add-on lipstick.  I’m also wearing lovely eyes from Morphine as well, in my favorite color – pale grey.

Truth came out with new hair recently, and I had to have this one – I love it when Truth does unusual styles!  This is Maisy (in black, of course), worn with the included buns.  They are optional, however, if you’d rather not wear them (nice touch).  In the next pic, you can see the lovely blush on the Morphine skin.  Usually, I don’t like skins with blush added; I usually find they’re too “cute” for me, but Morphine does it right here – love it!  My awesome piercings are from the inimitable Haus of Darcy.  This is an older set called Provocation, which I love because there are little unholy crosses on the lip piercings.  Provocation comes with a chest piercing as well, which you’ll notice on my chest right below the Adoness choker.  If you’re new to HoD, be advised there are three floors of older piercings at reduced prices.  Trust me, you’ll find some real bargains there for the quality of these piercings.

I Heart Role Play

Hello, my lovelies.  I’ve been away longer than I expected.  What have I been doing?  Well, let’s see…. First, I tried to get a handle on my bloated inventory using a Simple Closet device I bought for only L$199; then I became a premium member and changed Linden homes a couple of times; then I spent some time decorating said Linden home; and I did a bunch of hunts – mostly cherry-picking my must-have items.  Oh, I also tried *unsuccessfully* to shop at the Whore Couture (sorry, but I hate that name), and the Arcade events – yes, that’s right, I *still* have not successfully tp’d into either event.  Hey, people!  Could you give some other avis a chance, please??  I’ve actually been on a mini vacation break and have tried at every conceivable hour, and still …nada.

But, I *was* able to get into the We Love Role-Play event today (not yesterday, but at least today)!  And I have some awesome things to show you guys.

Where to start??  Well, I shall start at the beginning, of course.  DoC Eldritch of DE Designs sent me the awesome Carmina outfit in black, which consists of the richly textured mesh corset, pants, and fingerless gloves.  It’s been awhile since I blogged DE Designs, but DoC is still designing on a consistent basis.  I first found DE back in 2008 when I was a plain little noobie who had not yet discovered the joy of new skins, when Calla hair was all the rage, and when sculpties, let alone mesh, didn’t even exist yet.  I walked into DE Designs and couldn’t breathe – so much awesomeness!  Gorgeous textures – even a little noob could see the superior quality of his work compared to the majority of stuff that was on the grid back then.  As soon as I put Carmina on, I knew I wanted to do an dark elven huntress thing.  So, I had some shopping to do!  In addition to DE’s Carmina outfit, I’m also wearing the best elf ears I have found.  They’re mesh and from [Mandala]; they come with a HUD to change the skin tone as well as the piercings.  Love them!  I also needed a nice bow set.  I decided to go all out and get a bow that actually worked for role-play.  After comparison shopping at several weapons shops, I decided on this beautiful one from Pucca Firecaster’s Creations (PFC), which came with the leg strap quiver.  I admit, it’s the quiver that really sold me, as well as the shape of the actual bow.  I haven’t had a chance to try it out yet, but it came with all the bells and whistles that combat bows usually come with.

Back to We Love Role-Play – I picked up the headband from =Kio= there – this is the Crow version, but it comes in many other shades/color combinations, as well.  I also picked up the Benediction cross piercing from .:ellabella:. at the Role-Play event.  It also comes with a color-change HUD with lots of options.  My black Nanda hair is from Mina, exclusive to We Heart Role-Play, and I knew it was perfect for this outfit as soon as I saw it!  As I was taking pics, I was playing with the Windlight settings, and I could not believe how beautifully textured it is and how the light changes the colors in the hair.  Gorgeous!  Finally, my beautiful, perfect for role-play skin is from Lumae (formerly Heartsick) – the Una skin in the cream tone with awesome tribal tattoos on the face.  Oh, you can’t see that very well in the photo, can you?  Here you go!

In case you can’t tell, the tribal makeup consists of the dots on my forehead and the swirls and dots under my eyes.  The cross on the bridge of my nose is the .:ellabella:. piercing.  The Una skin is available for a special price at We Love Role-Play in your choice of three tones – cream, honey, or cookie.  Demos are free, of course.  I almost forgot to mention my wonderful Kollo mesh cloak that I picked up on sale at FATEplay.  By the way, the sale there ends March 10, so you still have a few days; if you know a fellow that needs some really well-made mesh clothes – send him to FATE.  I actually couldn’t resist a gorgeous suit I found there;  I spent several days happily cross-dressing. FATE does have a few women’s pieces, and some that are unisex (like my cloak).    One more closeup so you can see my lovely skin, hair, headband, and piercings….

Carnivals and Hunts – Death Row Designs, Cog & Fleur, et al.

I’ve been a busy little bee.  There are so many hunts and limited time events at the moment!  One event I hit several times was the Fantasy Gacha Carnival.  Oh my poor linden balance!  Those little machines are the devil!  But I managed to get a few items I really wanted – not all, sadly.  One vendor in particular had several items I wanted, and all were awesome.  Death Row Designs had these fantastic wings at the Gacha Carnival – fairy and mechanical wings (two types) in a zillion colors, plus some rare animated ones that you could wear in addition to the static wings.  The wings are no longer available at the Carnival, but you can find them at DRD’s mainstore (see LM under “details” below).

These are DRD’s mechanical wings called Steam Wings Brass.  They are so beautifully detailed with the shading, chains, and rods.  I admit, I haven’t taken them off in days!  Another little item I got at the Fantasy Gacha Carnival is my little apple bracelet from Enfant Terrible – which is another new-to-me shop that I will be following with great interest.  My last worn item from the Gacha Carnival is from la petite morte – my black roses eyepatch.    If I go back to the Carnival, it will be for the rare version of this eyepatch, which I just must have!  I have an extra variety pack of the roses eyepatches, if anyone wants to trade.  I’ll even add some other things you may want in order to get the special version!  Any takers?? 🙂

Here you can see the lovely wings, bracelet, and eyepatch better.  And my horns!  I love my Valentine’s themed new horns from Remarkable Oblivion.  They’re made from bundled arrows, some with red and white striped fletches, all interspersed with red hearts.  Amazingly creative work!  There’s another store that’s on my “must watch” list – Remarkable Oblivion – love it!  These horns, along with a non-Valentine’s themed pair, are available at this month’s FaMESHed.

I think my wild, spiky hair ties together this whole mish-mash of styles I have going on here.   I was so pleased to see this appear at the latest TDR Fusion from LoQ in a bunch of colors for one crazy, low price.  TDR Fusion rocks!  It also comes in a version for guys.  Nice!

Last but certainly not least, is my beautiful outfit from Cog & Fleur, which is their prize for A Gothic Romance Hunt – only L$1, people!  And the outfit includes the necklace and the boots!  Omg, I love Cog & Fleur!  Thank you for going the extra mile with your hunt prize!  Additionally, you will not be hunting for hours for the little red rose – it’s extremely easy to find!  The gold braid against the blood red fabric just make the whole outfit pop, and the textures are very well-done.  This is one of those hunt gifts that you will be pleased to keep in your inventory long after the hunt is over.  I will leave you with one final photo of the ensemble. Thanks for reading, and …

“!gO!” and More (red)Mint

So, I’m on my second Snow Day.  That means more time for SL and blogging!  Recently, I was surfing the Marketplace, looking for freebies and cheapies.  In the process, I was introduced to a new-to-me store called “!gO!” by Gocha Merlin.  I decided to visit it inworld and just had to pick up a few things.  Today, I’m showing you the Naughty Chemise mesh top, which was quite reasonably priced, and which also comes in several other colors, including a fabulous red.  I liked the shape of the mesh top, open and hanging in delicious ways on my avi’s body.  It comes in various sizes, all in one folder, so you can find the one that fits you best.

I would have actually bought lots more stuff at !gO!, but it’s the end of the month and I’m running short on lindens.    But, this is a store that I’ll be watching, for sure!  I’m once again wearing my (red)Mint ePunk boots, this time in black, with the included socks.  Now these socks are part of the original ePunk boots.  As I mentioned yesterday, Ms. Schulze has released several new sock add-on sets (available as HUDs).  Also as I mentioned yesterday, the boots come with several options – the socks on just one leg or the other, or on both legs, plus all the appliers for the current big booty fad.  I’m also wearing (red)Mint’s new hair once again because I wanted to wear this cute gacha Aviator Rush Hat by PopTart that I picked up at Suicide Dollz. I got this rare Kamikaze version on my first play!  This (red)Mint hairstyle works better than most if you want to wear some headgear.  You probably can’t see them, but I’m also wearing a little miniskirt by Sn@tch coz I didn’t want my “lady bits” to be “proud and out loud,” if you know what I mean.  And now….the obligatory closeup!

I love me some League and (red)Mint!

So, League had a sale.  If you’re very, very lucky, the sale prices are still in effect even though, technically, the sale is over.  I just love League – it’s been around forever (since 2007), and the texture and sculpting work is just amazing, I think.  I’ll never forget when League first came out with the gartered stockings.  I think they were the first in SL to offer them, and if not the first, they were the first store to do the gartered stockings so well.  They are super sexy and super cute, too.  So, when I read that League was having a 50% off sale, I just had to run over and fill up my shopping bag.

Of course, I had to get some new gartered stockings, so I picked up the brambled pattern – so cute!  I fell in love with the dirty lace skirts, and had to get both colors, black and brown – brown is shown here.  The Nyx corsets just blew me away – via HUD you can change whether the straps are assymetrical -one down, one up, or symmetrical – both down.  You can also choose whether the outlines of the straps are brown, black, or without outlines.  Then the corset itself has several modes – how many seams you want on the corset, the color of the seams, plus the colors of the spikes, and even whether you want the spikes to show in the first place.  Amazingly versatile!  Now, the Nyx corset actually has skirt add-ons that match them perfectly, but I challenged myself to do more of a mix-up outfit, so voilà.

Now, I did mention (red)Mint in my post title, right?  (red)Mint is another absolutely favorite store of mine because Moni Schulze can really create *anything.*  She does skins, shoes, clothing, hair, jewelry, shapes.  Just about everything you need to beautify yourself.  Many of her products (especially the skins) have a definite fantasy feel to them, but everything else can really be worn by *anyone*!  Case in  point, the wonderful new hairstyle worn here.  It is perfect for wearing under hats without having to adjust anything.  And the textures are among the best in SL, I believe.  Plus, when you wear (red)Mint hair, you *won’t* look like everyone else in SL!  The boots are also by (red)Mint – they come in every color you could possibly want – and they come with various sock options.  They are actually not a new item.  However, Moni released new sock add-ons for the boots.  I feel a bit bad for not showing you some of the socks, but I tried and they just didn’t go with the rest of this outfit.  Plus, I wanted to show League’s famous gartered socks!  But with the (red)Mint boots, you can change the sock textures and patterns via HUD a gazillion ways – darks, lights, stripes, you name it.  Plus, you can choose whether you have one sock up or both, and there are appliers for all the current mesh booty add-ons that so many people seem to love.  Here’s a close up before I forget… See the pretty textures on the hair??  Yummy!

My skin is by Belleza, the recent Fifty Linden Friday redhead skin (love it!), and my bracelets, horns, collar, and necklace is by the Plastik, another recent FLF set.  My nails are by the incomparable +:WTG:+.  As you may know, I was away for over a year, and I’m still finding “new” stuff in my inventory (new to me, anyway).  If you’re looking for over-the-top-fancy nails with rings, lots of options, and just exquisite workmanship, +:WTG:+ is your shop.  These nails are an older item and are not made for SLink hands, but they look damn good even without the fancy mesh hands, I think!

^v^DRBC^v^ and Death Row Designs – Part 2

As promised, in this post, I will show you another outfit from DRBC, along with another color of DRD’s Post Apocalyptic Nerdstomper Boots.  Now, apparently, I did not pay full price for this dress.  No, I got it for only L$100, and you can, too, if you hurry over to Suicide Dollz before it ends!

This is DRBC’s Sweet Tart Lovedoll dress, which as I said, is available in this pattern, as well as five other patterns, for only L$100.  I love the mesh skirt on the dress.  I’ve bought other mesh outfits where the creator tried to make a short, flared skirt, and was not pleased at how it worked on my avi.  This one works great!  Honestly,  I loved every single pattern this dress came in, but I had to be frugal and just pick one – so hard (whines)!  As you can see, I’m wearing another color of DRD’s boots here – the Fire color.  You can also better see my fave new tattoo in this pic.  I picked up this Fly Away birds leg tattoo by My Cocaine at Fi*Friday for a great price.

You may have noticed my skin is different in this post than the last one.  I had to return to my Belleza Ria Pale skin, available for a discounted price at the fabulous Collabor88 (previously blogged).    I also added some lovely jewelry by Violet Voltaire, which is still available on the Marketplace.  Well, that’s about it.  Hope you enjoyed!
