Hello, lovelies.  Content theft… it’s a ubiquitous word on the feed these days.  I’ve been wrestling with my thoughts lately.  Do I support the boycott or not?  Is it better to support my favorite designers or to boycott all sales to show that I don’t support stolen content?  Well, if you put it that way….. I *guess* it’s better to support my favorite designers.  Should I blog? or should I stay silent in support of the boycott?  I wanted to blog yesterday; hell, i was even upset that so many bloggers were posting yesterday.  Honestly, I spent yesterday organizing my inventory – supporting the boycott.  But today, as I read some very insightful blog posts, I have changed my mind.  It is better to support the designers.  If the designers want to boycott LL – create no content for a time – that’s their prerogative… they are sacrificing potential income to make a point, and I respect them for it.

Some say that education is the key – if people realized how much content theft hurts both the SL economy and the morale of the creative people who contribute to SL, maybe fewer people would support stolen content.  I think that’s a start.  My biggest issue, however, is not with those that steal content to resell – to make a linden. That’s despicable, true.  The motivation there is greed, pure and simple.  No, my issue is with people who copybot and *give away* – full perm – to anyone and everyone.  Why do these people do this?  It’s because they are anarchists.  They have no respect for others because they see SL as “just a game.”  They mock those of us who “take it too seriously.”  These people are completely unreachable by any education campaign because they know *exactly* what they are doing and why.

I felt very Halloweeny when beginning the composite of this outfit.  But now that I look at it, I’m feeling more “erin go braughish.”  Oh, well.  This was a fun one to put together.

I started with the silentsparrow Oziversary prezzie that I snagged last weekend.  Yeah, if it’s not already in your inventory, you missed your chance.  I wanted to mix and match a bit and I remembered the DV8 Midnight Mania, or maybe it’s the Lucky Chair, prize – there are two there – one in green and one in blue.  Yep… perfect matchy matchy.  The Crie Style glasses had to make a reappearance.  They were just too perfect.  The tattoo, part of a silentsparrow Lucky Bird (group lucky chair) outfit also fell into place like serendipity.  Finally, the skin – it’s a hunt gift from Schadenfreude, and is actually quite pretty.  The boots – Duh! – yep, only $25L, or perhaps it was a subscribo gifty awhile back.  At any rate, they’re  L$25 now. The hair was the hardest part.  I started out with the Wild Woman hair but it was a bit too too.  I found this little wig in my ginormous, unorganized inventory.  It’s one of those items that I have no idea what store it came from.  The only clue is “A.T.H.” – and when I looked at the creator’s profile, there was no such store listed.  So, it’s prolly not available anymore.

I’m a Pink Pirate Pony!

Omg…. lol.  How silly/cute is this?

Ok, so there’s a story here, of course.  I’ll give it to you straight from the horse’s mouth.  (Go on, you may groan.)  I *bought* this gorgeous dress from Wishbox when it *first* came out in early August, after seeing it blogged by Achariya here, right?  Wore it around the grid, feeling all girly and piratey and whatnot.  Then, a few weeks ago (early October), a group message appears in Lucky Chair Stalkers – this very dress is now a Midnight Mania prize.  I shrugged my perky little shoulders – oh, well, now everyone can have it.

Times passes, and it’s still available in the MM.  People are having a harder time getting it because everyone already has it.  LCS group members are posting it, practically begging for people to come slap the board.  So, I’m nice (sometimes heh heh) and I go over to slap it.  Well, who should be hanging out, monitoring the MM board but a precious little pink pony wearing a girly little outfit (not this one).  I had to comment and tell her how ridiculously cute she was (shut up.. it’s a compliment lol). She was nice enough to pass me the LM to Vienna Freebies.  Yes, that’s right – it’s totally free!

Darksphere Creations makes foxes, horses of every color, kitty cats, puppy dogs, etc. – all free.  Not only that but these babies are packed with features.  For example, it comes with a customization HUD – you can change the markings – spots, etc., eye color, ear color, hoof color, and choose whether or not to wear horseshoes.  *And* it also comes with a control HUD – to make the ears move in different ways and to adjust the eyes – bigger or squinty or completely closed.  There are two different leg styles (bent and unbent), as well as a male and female body shape.  Think that’s enough?  No way!  You have a choice of 7 different mane styles, a toned or primitive body style, and 3 different skin patterns.  Whew!  Crazy, huh?  So, a big thank you to Wingless Emoto, who built and textured the avatars, and to Maldavius Figtree, who provided the scripting. So, ladies, don’t look a gift horse in the mouth (*groan*), go get your own free furry avatar.

Ok, I really don’t remember how I heard about those shoes/boots.  Probably a much better blogger than I am posted it.  Anyway, if you haven’t gotten them yet, you better go.  It’s still the Midnight Mania prize at Vignette and they are witchy poo awesome.  The hair is a Rotten Toe group gift – it was available previously at Zombie Fest (which I missed – dammit!)  The glasses (which are a bit too small for my wide face and are not modfiable – grrr) were the Magic of Oz anniversary prize from Crie Style, which makes glasses and monocles to *die* for, btw.  And the dress – yeah, it’s free, *and* it has cute little ladybugs on it – what more could you possibly ask for?? It’s one of many Lucky Board prizes at Scribble.  The board only has a 5 minute timer, so go!  I picked up the other items worn from various Halloween themed hunts.  So, nothing I’m wearing, other than the skin costs more than a linden.  Yay!

Still Crazy After All These Years…..

I love Paul Simon… since I’m showing you another outfit from Crazy, this song just popped into my head.  lol  Anywho…. yesterday I showed you a sexy black outfit from Crazy.  Today I have a completely different look for you.  This one just screamed loudly to be accessorized for Halloween.  So, I added a few items that I found at the Gacha Gacha Halloween Festival at StormWind.  I received a notice from Perturbation about it last weekend.  I’m sure it’s still going on.  There are several cute freebies to grab, including a pumpkin soup set – tray, cookies, plate, and pumpkin seedling,  plus a pair of Halloween dolly shoes on special for L$50, and last but not least, the L$30 Gacha Gacha machine.  It’s a very cute little Halloween Fair, too.

So, here’s the outfit I threw together….

Lookee lookee!  I figured out how to make a frame around my pic!  Yeah, I suck at GIMP, but I want to learn!  The Crazy outfit comes with boots, but I wanted to show you the Halloween dollies from Perturbation.  Check out the whip –  cool! hee hee.  The scarf  (mmmmm love it!)  is a freebie from Clematis at the Halloween Festival.  The bracelet matches the shoes (and I’m also wearing matching earrings, but they’re hidden under the hair) and is also from Perturbation and is completely *free*!  whoot!  I found the cute glasses that make me look so intelligent (lol) free at C’est Moi, a tiny little shop with some quirky little items.

Ok, before I go, I must give you a quick review of this outfit from Crazy.  I love the style.. I love the concept, however, I must say that the execution is not perfect.  Yes, it is a hundred times better than I could have done coz I can’t build *at all* (lol), but I don’t want people being upset with me if they buy it and see the imperfections.  So, in the interests of caveat emptor (that’s buyer beware, sillies), I feel i must tell you that the skirt has problems.  The prims are not quite finished at the top where the white skirt prims meet the orange ruffle prims of the shirt.  The white prims stick out and you have to be careful how high you wear the skirt.  They are messy and uneven.  *But* I love it anyway.  Also, there is a second version of this outfit at Crazy with a black top and brownish skirt.  Again, I love the concept here, but please don’t buy if you demand perfection in your prim work.  kk?  Plus the price is very reasonable for everything that comes with this outfit (boots included, hello?)

I feel Crazy!

Helloo, ghoulies, ok… so i saw on a blog a cute freebie dress at a store called Crazy.  I had to search for the LM coz the post wasn’t actually featuring the dress, right?  So, off I go…. omg!  what a great store!  Very reasonable prices, quite a bit of stuff, and a room full of cheapies upstairs, including a 15 minute camping chair for some killer boots.  So, this is one of the items I snagged at Crazy.  (No, it’s not the same one I saw blogged earlier.)  It just screamed to be teamed up with some KOSH past and present freebies.  I do so love KOSH and appreciate enormously the weekly freebies there.  Thanks, KOSH!

I must admit that I had to have this outfit from Crazy because of the seriously ripped up stockings.  See?

And I love how well the KOSH Dealer Hair matches, with the little black knit cap built in.  Can you make out that odd “backpack” I’m wearing?  Well it’s a black box with a dead tree and a graveyard scene on top.  LOL  It’s the weekly freebie/dollarbie at KOSH – yes, it’s unisex.  Trust me, it’s really cool.. you should go see it.  The black and white bangles are another of my present favorite things – from a store that’s kind of hard to find called Edge Grafika.  I’ll try to showcase that store a little better soon. It has lots of freebies, dollarbies, and very reasonably priced otherbies…  You can find them on xstreet, too; just search for edge grafika, you lazy peeps.  :P

Blue Blood Halloween Limited Edition No. 2

Helloo, ghoulies.  I almost promised you last time that I might show you more Halloween goodies from Blue Blood.  Well, if I had promised, I wouldn’t be showing you more.  I *almost* promised, so here ya go.  :P  All of these orangy-black versions of some of Blue Blood’s loveliest outfits are limited editions, ladies.  After Halloween, they will be retired.  And, as mentioned earlier, they are not overly Halloweeny, so you can definitely wear them all year round if you enjoy the goth life.  :)

This lovely frock is called Ariadne.  It features criss-crossing straps on the legs on the sock layer and sculpted black flowers on the left shoulder and hip.  Do you like the boots?  They were a 15 minute camp freebie from Crazy; the camping chair is on the 2nd floor.  I’ll be talking more about Crazy next time.

Silly me.  I was wondering why I wasn’t getting notices from some of my favorite groups, such as Blue Blood. Well, I had unchecked “receive group notices.”  Duh.  So I checked the old notices and discovered that Ghanima had been very busy.  Did you know that there is a Halloween Fair going on at the Blue Blood sim?  Lots of fun stuff at great prices.  Honestly, I didn’t look around too much coz I headed straight for Blue Blood’s big tent.  Here’s one of the outfits I snagged.  I may show you more later.  No promises coz I’ll only break them.  I know how I am. lol

This one is Immortal and it’s so deliciously goth.  I especially like how the orange is very muted among the blacks so it’s not “in-your-face” Halloween.  For us goth enthusiasts, it can be worn all year round.  The price is right, too, at about half the usual price – so, about L$150 per outfit.  I’m wearing the long coat option, but it also comes with a shorter coat tail as well.  Check out that curvy gothic collar.  Whoot!

The details on this outfit are amazing, too, especially the chain with an ankh at the collar.  The pin I’m wearing here is not part of the outfit.  It was a freebie from Rozoregalia at the Jewelry Fair.  Check the mainstore; it may still be available there.  It matches the necklace I showed you earlier.  Love it!  Oh, I can’t forget to gush over the hair, too.  Wow, those guys at Exile are definitely approaching the top tier of SL hair designers.  I love this messy “do,” Maren, one of the new styles available at Exile.

Pixelated Rumpled Yumminess

You gotta love PixelDolls.  First of all, it’s been inworld designing clothes for *years* and hence grabbed up one of the best names for what we wear in world.  Plus, the textures are so yummy, and the prices are so damned reasonable.  If that’s not enough, there are frequent sales for the even more budget conscious among us.  So, what’s not to love?

So, this the usual new release notice was dropped on me a few days ago and I said… hmmmm that dress, Velvet Rumple, looks like me.  So, here ya go.

Naturally, it looks even better inworld due to the difficulty of capturing wispy prims.. trust me, they’re deliciously wispy.  The dress comes in lots of colors, too.  This one is red and the texture is reminiscent of crushed velvet roses.  I’m also wearing my favorite delicious smexy boots that i picked up on sale awhile back at Stiletto Moody – the bitch booties (hee hee) in black.  The necklace is my present favorite – snagged at the Jewelry Expo recently -Rozoregalia’s Vinca necklace.  Omg… swoons in delight at the sheer fabulousness of this necklace.  It’s fully scripted for color change, effects, sizing, etc.  It is gorgeous and I want to have the creator’s pixelated babies as a reward for making it.  ;)  Now, don’t go running over there expecting it to be cheap.  Hah! But it’s worth every linden. And the hair… whooot! Who doesn’t love a little TRUTH???  Every damn week, Truth makes me part with my lindens.  This week was no exception – the new style Mavi had to join my bloated inventory.  And yes, that is a brunette I’m wearing.  I finally realized that I’d gone through every single hair color in SL except my own (lol), so now I’m feeling the browns these days (with a reversion to black every now and then). Anywho…..
