Fitted Mesh is Awesome!

My darlings, have you updated your Firestorm viewer yet?  If not, you may start to crash as fitted mesh (formerly known as “liquid mesh”) become more popular.  Apparently, if someone wears fitted mesh around avatars who are not running the latest viewer, he or she may crash.  I’ve only acquired two fitted mesh outfits so far, but I already prefer them to the old mesh items.  No more having to change my shape to a predetermined size (none of which actually matches my own body dimensions).  Tonight I want to show you my latest fitted mesh acquisition – DE Designs’ Thyri dress.

DE Designs Fitted Mesh 2

Oops!  I got caught in a downpour! See how my dress is just skin-tight? 😉  But seriously, the fit is amazing.  I had no idea my avi was so thin!  For a not-so-thin RL person, I fell in love with my little avi all over again. lol  Thyri comes in three colors – the purple/black shown here, as well as all black, and brown/black.  And if you can’t use fitted mesh yet, it also comes in regular mesh in 5 sizes.  Everything about the dress is just scrumptious.

My hair is from Tableau Vivant for Collabor88.  I love the style – different but not ridiculously so.  The pulled back, very loose pony can work with a variety of styles, and the hair tie is color change, of course.  How about my skin?  This is from (red)Mint.  It is!  It’s not just for RP’ers!  This beautiful skin is called Ivy, and it’s the Powder tone, makeup number 4.  (red)Mint does lots of different tones for each skin, and always includes at least a few fantasy tones.   Take a better look here…

DE Designs Fitted Mesh 6

I’m wearing my SLink hands and the tone matching with the skin was effortless since (red)mint has appliers for most mesh body parts.  Easy Peasy!  My beautiful nail appliers are again from ZOZ, which you’ll find has nail polish at many of the weekly and monthly events at great prices.  Check them out – they’re really beautiful!  My piercings are, once again, from the inimitable Haus of Darcy, who makes the most bad-ass piercings in SL!  My jewelry is from another fave of mine – LouLou&Co.  None of the jewelry is new, just beautiful pieces I had in my massive (160K) inventory.  LouLou and HoD are two of my “go-to” designers when I’m looking for the right accessory.  Finally, my boots are from Lapointe & Bastchild, another of my favorite designers, and again, they’re not new.  Ok, one more closeup, and that’ll be enough for tonight.

I Heart Role Play

Hello, my lovelies.  I’ve been away longer than I expected.  What have I been doing?  Well, let’s see…. First, I tried to get a handle on my bloated inventory using a Simple Closet device I bought for only L$199; then I became a premium member and changed Linden homes a couple of times; then I spent some time decorating said Linden home; and I did a bunch of hunts – mostly cherry-picking my must-have items.  Oh, I also tried *unsuccessfully* to shop at the Whore Couture (sorry, but I hate that name), and the Arcade events – yes, that’s right, I *still* have not successfully tp’d into either event.  Hey, people!  Could you give some other avis a chance, please??  I’ve actually been on a mini vacation break and have tried at every conceivable hour, and still …nada.

But, I *was* able to get into the We Love Role-Play event today (not yesterday, but at least today)!  And I have some awesome things to show you guys.

DE Designs Carmina_003

Where to start??  Well, I shall start at the beginning, of course.  DoC Eldritch of DE Designs sent me the awesome Carmina outfit in black, which consists of the richly textured mesh corset, pants, and fingerless gloves.  It’s been awhile since I blogged DE Designs, but DoC is still designing on a consistent basis.  I first found DE back in 2008 when I was a plain little noobie who had not yet discovered the joy of new skins, when Calla hair was all the rage, and when sculpties, let alone mesh, didn’t even exist yet.  I walked into DE Designs and couldn’t breathe – so much awesomeness!  Gorgeous textures – even a little noob could see the superior quality of his work compared to the majority of stuff that was on the grid back then.  As soon as I put Carmina on, I knew I wanted to do an dark elven huntress thing.  So, I had some shopping to do!  In addition to DE’s Carmina outfit, I’m also wearing the best elf ears I have found.  They’re mesh and from [Mandala]; they come with a HUD to change the skin tone as well as the piercings.  Love them!  I also needed a nice bow set.  I decided to go all out and get a bow that actually worked for role-play.  After comparison shopping at several weapons shops, I decided on this beautiful one from Pucca Firecaster’s Creations (PFC), which came with the leg strap quiver.  I admit, it’s the quiver that really sold me, as well as the shape of the actual bow.  I haven’t had a chance to try it out yet, but it came with all the bells and whistles that combat bows usually come with.

Back to We Love Role-Play – I picked up the headband from =Kio= there – this is the Crow version, but it comes in many other shades/color combinations, as well.  I also picked up the Benediction cross piercing from .:ellabella:. at the Role-Play event.  It also comes with a color-change HUD with lots of options.  My black Nanda hair is from Mina, exclusive to We Heart Role-Play, and I knew it was perfect for this outfit as soon as I saw it!  As I was taking pics, I was playing with the Windlight settings, and I could not believe how beautifully textured it is and how the light changes the colors in the hair.  Gorgeous!  Finally, my beautiful, perfect for role-play skin is from Lumae (formerly Heartsick) – the Una skin in the cream tone with awesome tribal tattoos on the face.  Oh, you can’t see that very well in the photo, can you?  Here you go!

DE Designs Carmina_008

In case you can’t tell, the tribal makeup consists of the dots on my forehead and the swirls and dots under my eyes.  The cross on the bridge of my nose is the .:ellabella:. piercing.  The Una skin is available for a special price at We Love Role-Play in your choice of three tones – cream, honey, or cookie.  Demos are free, of course.  I almost forgot to mention my wonderful Kollo mesh cloak that I picked up on sale at FATEplay.  By the way, the sale there ends March 10, so you still have a few days; if you know a fellow that needs some really well-made mesh clothes – send him to FATE.  I actually couldn’t resist a gorgeous suit I found there;  I spent several days happily cross-dressing. FATE does have a few women’s pieces, and some that are unisex (like my cloak).    One more closeup so you can see my lovely skin, hair, headband, and piercings….

DE Designs Carmina_007

To wrap up this looooong post, I’m also wearing boots from Lapointe and Bastchild (not new, but perfect), and nails with rings, etc. from WTG (also, not new, but perfect – and not for SLink hands).  Hope you enjoyed my ramblings….

Happy hunting, gathering, shopping, etc. *mwah*!

Lolapop and Yummy New Curio!

Oh my goodness, as I’m sure everyone knows, Curio has finally released new skins.  My very first skin purchase in SL, way back in 2008, was from Curio, so I definitely have a soft spot for Gala Phoenix’s work.  The new skins don’t disappoint; I just had to shell out a few lindens to get Nadia, the skin specifically made for dark-haired girls like me.  Of course, I chose the gothest of the makeups – no. 2.  Look, I did a composite….

Lolapop and Curio compSuch a sweet and innocent face!  But what a sexy and dangerous outfit!  The outfit is new from Lolapop, which I usually think of as a jewelry designer.  Obviously, Lola can also make very sexy mesh clothing, too!  The Flirting with Danger outfit comes with the black, double-slit skirt, and your choice of three spiky corsets – red (shown), black, and purple.  It comes in lots of sizes, including sizes for girls with larger breasts (although not for mesh breasts).  The collar is not part of the outfit.  It’s from redMint, which awhile back released some posture collars in a myriad of styles, including RLV enabled.  The collars also come with a HUD to change the color of the collar, as well as the metal parts, and you can even choose to change your avi’s posture (even with an AO on) to  reflect the collar’s effects.  Pretty cool, no?  My hair is from Sadistic Hacker, one of my favorite hair designers for edgy styles.  This one is called Nagi and is unisex; it comes in several bang styles, and if you like buying single hair colors, the price is so reasonable.  The earrings are part of the Legion set by Sn@tch, which was on sale for Woeful Wednesday.  If you like, you may find that it’s still on sale; if so, it will be right in the front of the store.  It also comes with a matching necklace (not worn).   Is there anything Ivey cannot make beautifully?   Finally, my lovely boots are an old favorite of mine from Lapointe & Bastchild – the sexy Elise ankle boots.

Hope you were entertained by my efforts!  Happy hunting, gathering, shopping, etc. *mwah*!

Snatch Still Going Strong

How long has Ivey Deschanel been designing awesome fashions in SL?  Pretty damned long.   And she just keeps getting better and better.  So, since I’m not blogging much these days, I thought I’d blog a couple of her latest items.  She’s so damned prolific, too.  She comes out with around four new releases each and every Friday, and puts a new round of older items in the Lucky Boards and Riot Vends every Wednesday.  So, first up, is a new gothic gown from Snatch called the Babylon Gothic Gown.  I’ve noticed that goth seems to be “out” in SL these days.  Many, many goth designers have closed their doors – for example, Gothic Passionate Dreams closed earlier this month, and Nightshade hasn’t designed in months and months, just to name a couple.  It’s a sad time for lovers of gothic fashion (like moi).  But thank you, Ivey, for throwing us goths a bone in honor of Halloween.

Babylon comes in several colors, all for one low price.  This is the teal version.  The texture is lovely, and it’s cut down to *there* in front and back, with a full floor-length skirt, and prim flexy bell sleeves.  I’m also wearing the all-new mesh Naboo claws from Virtual Insanity that fit like a dream.  After a bit of tweaking, they move with your hand in all but the oddest positions.  My skin is an oldie but a perfect goodie – Laq’s Mima Pale, which Laq released for Halloween last year.  It’s been available all year, I think, but it’s especially appropriate for this time of year.  It comes with bloody mouth versions, too!  My jewelry is also an oldie but a goodie – from a store that’s no longer around, but who used to make some of my favorite jewelry – Ticky Tacky.  I was thinking about them the other day and took a walk down memory lane trying on the beautiful pieces.  Ok.  Enough nostalgia.  Finally, my hair.  I love this Sage style from analog dog so much!  It’s mesh, but with flexy add-ons.  Great idea, no?  It has the benefits of mesh – not sinking into your chest, etc., but also the movement of flexy pieces higher up.  It’s my new fave hair!

Another new release from Snatch this week is the Liza Peplum top, which comes in a bazillion colors all in one pack.  With Snatch, the demos are free, and I suggest you try them because you only get one size in the pack.  In other words, you need to buy your size, like in real life.  For me, I had to buy the XL even though I’m not a very big avie, because of my bewbs. If you notice, the top is a little big on me, but I love it anyway.  It’s more comfy big (wink).  Anyway, I love this style top – it’s a sheer black mesh top with a built in corset with a ruffled top.  Really cute!  I wanted a cute short mesh skirt to go with the top, so I found the slightly older release, Snatch’s Fritzie Cord Mini that matched up perfectly.  Of course, the colors match perfectly because it’s all from Snatch.  My hair this time is from another of my favorite hair designers, Wasabi Pills.  This is the Nikki mesh style.  I’m not sure why there’s some transparency issues where the mesh hair meets the mesh top, but I’m guessing it’s a mesh collision thingie.  Color me ignorant of such matters.  My boots are another old item which I pull out of my inventory often – Lapointe & Bastchild‘s Elise boots.  My piercings are the same I wore in my last post.  It shows how seldom I’ve been logging in that I didn’t change them.  They’re from the inimitable Haus of Darcy called End of the Night.

Hope you liked.  Thanks for reading! Happy hunting, gathering, shopping, etc. *mwah*!

Details given in the text!  (It’s just easier that way, folks!)

BlakOpal Unleashes a Sexy Chanteuse

Well, Fantasy Faire began today, and I’m on the official blogger list, but I’ve got some overdue posts, so I’m going to finish those up before I start showing you FF items, ‘k?  So, tonight’s post is about BlakOpal, that bastion of gothic goodness.  The fine folks over there have a new release, and she is stunning.  I’ll let the pictures do the talking.

Do I like this outfit.  No.  I don’t.  I LOVE it!  Hee hee.  It is sooo sexy.  Am I on a burlesque kick or what?  Well, excuse me, but some gorgeous new burlesque items have come out lately, and I just have to blog them since burlesque is my favorite style!  The outfit includes the top, burlesque skirt, which is made a bit differently than most I’ve seen, but works beautifully.  The skirt prims include the bottom portion of the corset.  You’d think there’d be a problem matching up those seams, but nope – none at all.  It flowed together seamlessly.  The Chanteuse dress comes in at least three colors that I’ll show you – this beautiful red, plus blue and purple.  Before I show you the other colors, let me tell you what else I’m wearing.  My boots are (once again) the Angeline boots from Lapointe and Bastchild.  I’m just so in love with these boots!  (And they’re not even a new release!  But they’re just so yummy!)  My necklace is a new item from +:+WTG+:+for Stuff in Stock called The Sun 2012.  it’s a fairly simple, yet intricate necklace.  Oxymoron?  Mayhaps lol.  Nothing from +:+WTG+:+ is really simple.  Their primwork is amazing.  This necklace, though, is not as intricate as some of their other pieces.  Not that there’s anything wrong with that!  It’s a beautiful piece, and it’s unisex, too.  The earrings are also from WTG (and blogged previously).  My hair is Truth’s Auralee (a very pretty style), and my skin is once again Illusory’s offering for Collabor88.  I love this skin sooo much!  Oh, my hair adornments are not part of the Truth hair.  They’re actually part of something I’ll be blogging for Fantasy Faire from Lupoaica (more about that later).  Ok, more pics of Chanteuse.

I particularly love this blue because of the two tones of blue used.  Those two different colors really add some visual interest, I think.

And this purple is just lovely, too.  I hope you love them as much as I do.  If so, head over to BlakOpal and get yours.  While you’re there, be sure to pick up the new ladies (and gents) freebies next to the staircase.  Until next time…

Happy hunting, gathering, shopping, etc. *mwah*!

Bubblez Does Burlesque

Well, you must know that I love burlesque.  The clothes are so sexy despite the fact that they often don’t reveal much.  It’s the fantasy that’s so sexy, I guess.  But anyway, Bubblez Designs has a rather new burlesque outfit that I think is super sexy and cute at the same time.

I love the little dangling bodice that gives you a glance of nipple hiding behind the black lace bra.  So sexy!  The outfit includes the cute hat, too.  I’ve added quite a few accessories because I went on a bit of a shopping binge last weekend (and then RL promptly kicked my butt and wouldn’t allow me to log in for a week.  Typical.)  So, I’m wearing an amazing jewelry set from +:+WTG+:+ called Dragon Fes.  Do you see that awesome monocle?  It’s a dragon head over the nose with his curled tail forming the monocle.  Love it!  The glass is color-change via click, too.  Dragon Fes also has two different bracelets – I’m wearing both of them as well – one on each wrist.  One is leather with silver accents, and the other is all silver.  The eyewear and bracelets are sold separately.  I love my necklace, too!  It’s from LouLou&Co. and you know how great her jewelry is!  Well, if you don’t, then you owe it to yourself to check it out!  This is the Dulce Muerte (ah, Sweet Death!) V1 necklace.  There’s also a version 2 that’s a bit different (bloodier if I recollect correctly).  My earrings and skin are both from the latest Collabor88.  The skin is by Illusory, of course, another makeup of the Love skin that is probably the best damned bargain on the grid for only L$88!  The mesh Eiffel Tower earrings are from Intrigue & Co., also for Collabor88.  My boots are from Lapointe & Bastchild (told you that you’d see these again lol); these are the gorgeous Angeline ankle boots.  My hair is a subscriber gift from Truth that I’m sure everyone has seen blogged by now.  It was sent out for Easter and is called Bunny.  Thank you, Truth, for gifting us a style that we can wear all year round!  This one is uber cute, too!

I hope to be back soon, but until then…

Happy hunting, gathering, shopping, etc. *mwah*!

More from Vaxer Coz I Forgot to Post this One!

Yep,  I must have been rushing to get out my last post coz I had another sexy outfit from Vaxer to show you.  So, take a look at Zulema.

I’m pretty sure I got Zulema at a special price on the Marketplace.  But, I’m sorry to say that I held onto it too long coz the special has changed there.  But you should totally check it out if you’re into goth fashion! Apparently, the specials change pretty regularly, so check back often.  The undershirt/bra comes on a separate layer, so you can wear the dress with or without it.  I’m wearing the bra undershirt in the center and right pics and I’m going bare in the left pic.  It’s a sexy outfit either way.  I’m also wearing a newish release from +:+WTG+:+ as my gorgeous choker and earrings.  You should really click to see the pic bigger coz this is drool-worthy goth jewelry.  Oh, Ikon Innovia of IKON also just released his new Horizon eyes.  I fell in love with these pale blue ones and had to change from my customary grey.  Don’t worry, I also found some new grey eyes there and grabbed those, too.  Again, click if you want to see the eyes bigger.  And I just had to show you these sexy boots I found at Lapointe & Bastchild.  They’re not new, but I must have been on SL hiatus when they came out coz they’re totally new to me!  They’re so yummy!   🙂

They come in lots of pretty colors, even a lovely goth black. 😀  I love them so much that you’re going to get sick of seeing me in them, but I don’t care (*sticks out tongue*)  I love the straps that give these ankle boots a very Victorian look.  And the textures are just perfect.  Paul Lapointe is such a pro at texturing, and he knows goth/Victorian styles from years and years of SL experience.  Well, that’s enough from me.  Little Kat is dying to wish you all a Happy Easter, so I’d better get busy helping her do just that!  Until next time,

Happy hunting, gathering, shopping, etc. *mwah*!

Angels & Demons for Zombie Popcorn Brand

I’m a long-time fan of Aliza Karu’s work.  She has a wild and vivid imagination that she readily translates into unique sartorial creations in SL.  Recently, I took a walk through the latest Zombie Popcorn Brand sale and  saw some nice items, but nothing that really screamed at me to “buy buy buy!”   That is until I came upon Ms. Karu’s offering, the Pallina dress.

It’s quite wild and wonderful, and full of meshy goodness, too.  It comes with a really wild and crazy hat, too, which I decided not to wear coz I wanted to wear my new Wasabi Pills Annette hair.  Annette is a nice sleek high pony with little wisps caressing your forehead.  The Pallina dress includes all of the parts shown above, except for the umbrella which is from Lolapop and comes with poses – just click the umbrella and voila! – you’re posing.  The gorgeously textured ankle boots are the newest release from Lapointe & Bastchild, the Simone boots.  If you buy the special edition (and specially priced) fatpack of the boots, they come with a HUD to change the colors, so your inventory won’t be needlessly overloaded.  Mr. Lapointe makes beautiful boots, and I am sure to be wearing these again in later posts!  Once again, I’m wearing the new Redmint skin in the Doll tone.  I’ve added some Cherry Red lipstick from Illusory (meant to go with the Illusory Love skins) to make my look “pop” a bit.

My pretty jewelry is the latest release from +:+WTG+:+ – the Prelude necklace and earring set.  Compared to other pieces from them, this is a very simple, but still stunning, set.  The set comes with another necklace as well as the one shown.  One more pic for you and then I’m done. 🙂

Until next time, happy hunting, gathering, shopping, etc. *mwah*!

Lapointe and Bastchild

Although it’s always fun to find new stores that have amazing creations, I try to remember to check in on the bastions of SL fashion every now and then.  You know the stores I mean – the one’s that have been around for years despite our crazy inworld economy.  For any store to last more than a couple of years, it must have amazing talent behind the brand, and someone dedicated to SL beyond the norm.  One of those such stores is Lapointe & Bastchild.  Now, I’ve been an SL resident for almost four years now, and I still remember my squeals of joy when I first discovered L&B.  I have to give them credit for beginning my ongoing love affair with SL goth/vampire fashion.  I’m happy to say that L&B’s creations have kept up with the times, too.  Their textures have evolved to keep up with the latest trends and the latest technology, ensuring that their products remain top-quality.  Yet, their prices are totally reasonable.  Is it any wonder L&B is still going strong?

So, today I’m going to show you several items I picked up at L&B earlier this week.  Only one item is “new” but all items are among the newer releases.  Enough chatter!  On with the pics….

I love, love, love this leather jacket.  It comes in lots of different styles, but I had to have this Morte skull motif version.  It’s full of sculpty parts, but it was a dream to fit with the scripted resizer.  The skirt is also fairly new – the S’Wear Candy Buckled Mini with color-change leather band/buckles.  This skirt is so versatile that it can be worn with many different colored tops.  The skirt comes with the fishnets, too.  The Black Patent Elise boots are the newest item from L&B.  For one price, you get both the knee boots shown here, as well as an ankle boot version.  Paul Lapointe’s boot textures are just delicious.  He’s one of the top goth boot designers on the grid, I think.  These items are part of the new S’Wear line, which features goth wear that is more on the punk side – edgier than some of the earlier apparel sold at the store.  However, there are still many amazing formal gothic dresses and suits to be found at L&B.  I confess I drooled over some of the gothic wedding dresses;  they are just sumptuous.  If only I could find my vampire groom. :/

The hair was a happy bit of serendipity.  As I was putting together my L&B outfit, Wasabi Pills dropped this hair on me.  At first I thought it wouldn’t quite work, but a few clicks on the color-change headband, and I was sold.  You know how much I love to “matchy matchy.”  As I said in my last post, I am currently having a love-affair with Wasabi Pills’ hair. 😀  Finally, the necklace is a fairly recent item from LouLou&Co.  It’s the Crazy Coco Purple necklace that was part of the Platinum Hunt prize.  I just love Lolly Carlberg’s creations and will find any excuse to wear her stuff.

Oh, before I go, here’s an obligatory closeup for y’all.  Enjoy the detail of the jacket – isn’t it amazing?!

Happy hunting, gathering, shopping, etc. *mwah*!

+++Blue Blood+++ – Lotsa Sexy Separates

Ghani has been on a creative roll.  Right on the heels of the sexy Dora corset separates, she’s released a pair of hot leather pants, and two more corsets.  If you love separates, you’re going to love these.  These are also very affordable, at only L$150 per pack of four colors.  Yay!  Let’s get started coz I’m going to show them *all* to you!

These are the Noah pants which come with a sculpted belt buckle, sculpted bell-bottom cuffs (not worn), and those cool sculpted doo-hickeys (cargo pockets?) on the side.  I’m not sure what to call them, but they make these pants into something special, that’s for sure!  Leave it to Ghani to come up with something *different*, right?   The pants are also chaps style with the black leather on the outside and a colored pattern on the inside of the thighs.  The Noah pants come in black leather with a subtle colored pattern, and also in a more vibrant tartan pattern.  In the pics above, I’m wearing (left to right) the tartan red, teal leather, pink leather, tartan red again, and red leather.  Got that?  :))  I’ve paired the Noah pants with Ghani’s last release, the Dora Strapped corsets, which work really well with these pants.  The Dora corsets are the shortest corsets that Ghani has done lately.  You’ll see that the two new corsets are long-line style.

Here we have the purple leather, the black leather, the tartan black, and the gold leather.  I’m also wearing my new Laq skin, Mini, with some dramatic Nomine makeup, which I’ve blogged lots of times already.  The boots are from Lapointe & Bastchild and are so kickass!  The tattoo is from Para Designs and is the Zombie Popcorn Hunt gift.

Next up, there’s the new Caustic Corsets, a long, laced-up style that works great with tight leather pants.

The Caustic Corsets come in two styles – solids with black leather and multicolored.  Here’s the teal and pink one with a back view for you.

And here are the rest of the multi-colored corsets.

Doesn’t the purple and gold one look perfect for Mardi Gras?!  Hee hee.  So pretty, too.  These are so beautifully drawn.  Ghani must have put hours of work into these babies.  The Caustic Corsets are quite ornate; the new Tanya corsets are a tiny bit more casual.

Tanya comes in both solids, shown above, and multi-colored versions.  Take a look at those.

Yes, the multi-colored Tanya Corsets are quite colorful.  Again, the purple, green, and gold one is perfect for Mardi Gras. 😀  Oh, in case you can’t tell, the black leather pants I’m wearing are unzipped.  They’re an oldie but a goodie from my inventory, made by Adam n Eve.

Well, that’s about it for now.  I’m pretty tired and not feeling very garrulous at the moment.  So, until next time….

Happy hunting, gathering, shopping, etc. *mwah*!
