I love me some League and (red)Mint!

So, League had a sale.  If you’re very, very lucky, the sale prices are still in effect even though, technically, the sale is over.  I just love League – it’s been around forever (since 2007), and the texture and sculpting work is just amazing, I think.  I’ll never forget when League first came out with the gartered stockings.  I think they were the first in SL to offer them, and if not the first, they were the first store to do the gartered stockings so well.  They are super sexy and super cute, too.  So, when I read that League was having a 50% off sale, I just had to run over and fill up my shopping bag.

league nyx corset and lace skirt edited

Of course, I had to get some new gartered stockings, so I picked up the brambled pattern – so cute!  I fell in love with the dirty lace skirts, and had to get both colors, black and brown – brown is shown here.  The Nyx corsets just blew me away – via HUD you can change whether the straps are assymetrical -one down, one up, or symmetrical – both down.  You can also choose whether the outlines of the straps are brown, black, or without outlines.  Then the corset itself has several modes – how many seams you want on the corset, the color of the seams, plus the colors of the spikes, and even whether you want the spikes to show in the first place.  Amazingly versatile!  Now, the Nyx corset actually has skirt add-ons that match them perfectly, but I challenged myself to do more of a mix-up outfit, so voilà.

Now, I did mention (red)Mint in my post title, right?  (red)Mint is another absolutely favorite store of mine because Moni Schulze can really create *anything.*  She does skins, shoes, clothing, hair, jewelry, shapes.  Just about everything you need to beautify yourself.  Many of her products (especially the skins) have a definite fantasy feel to them, but everything else can really be worn by *anyone*!  Case in  point, the wonderful new hairstyle worn here.  It is perfect for wearing under hats without having to adjust anything.  And the textures are among the best in SL, I believe.  Plus, when you wear (red)Mint hair, you *won’t* look like everyone else in SL!  The boots are also by (red)Mint – they come in every color you could possibly want – and they come with various sock options.  They are actually not a new item.  However, Moni released new sock add-ons for the boots.  I feel a bit bad for not showing you some of the socks, but I tried and they just didn’t go with the rest of this outfit.  Plus, I wanted to show League’s famous gartered socks!  But with the (red)Mint boots, you can change the sock textures and patterns via HUD a gazillion ways – darks, lights, stripes, you name it.  Plus, you can choose whether you have one sock up or both, and there are appliers for all the current mesh booty add-ons that so many people seem to love.  Here’s a close up before I forget… See the pretty textures on the hair??  Yummy!

My skin is by Belleza, the recent Fifty Linden Friday redhead skin (love it!), and my bracelets, horns, collar, and necklace is by the Plastik, another recent FLF set.  My nails are by the incomparable +:WTG:+.  As you may know, I was away for over a year, and I’m still finding “new” stuff in my inventory (new to me, anyway).  If you’re looking for over-the-top-fancy nails with rings, lots of options, and just exquisite workmanship, +:WTG:+ is your shop.  These nails are an older item and are not made for SLink hands, but they look damn good even without the fancy mesh hands, I think!

Ok, I really didn’t mean to write this much!  I’m long-winded, huh?  I’ll shut up now and just say…

Happy hunting, gathering, shopping, etc. *mwah*!

Catching up with Violent Seduction and Ploom

Yep, still trying to catch up.  I’ve had the lovely dresses I’m going to show you today for probably a month now and the beautiful skins from ploom for about two weeks now.  I’ve worn a few of the makeups in posts, but I wanted to show you all of them.  So, let’s get started!  Iki released a new dress called Maestro which features music symbol embellishments.  It’s a classic Violent Seduction style dress, which means that it is quintessentially Iki.

The dress comes with the sculpted collar with treble clef, as well as a sculpted bow and treble clef adornment on the dress; there are also sculpted sleeves which seamlessly blend into the dress.  You’ll forget you’re wearing sleeve prims!  This color is called “Love” and is definitely my favorite.  I love Violent Seduction’s shade of pink.  All the dresses are the same except for the color of the skirt.  I’ve paired up Maestro with different makeups from ploom’s Maia skins.  This makeup is called Cotton Candy.  The hair is a new release from Wasabi Pills called Yumi.  I’ll show you various shades of Yumi in the rest of this post.  The Cura Pumps are so cute – they’re another semi-new style from Dilly Dolls which were originally released at the Shoe Fair.  They’re now available at the Dilly Dolls mainstore.  The Cura Pumps come in three shades – light, medium, and dark, each with their own color palette.  They use Oriana’s  beautiful HUD to change the different parts independently.  The color palettes of Dilly Dolls and Violent Seduction are very different, so the shoes and the skirts never quite matched, but I think I still managed to make them work. 🙂  Here’s the Life (or lavender) shade of Maestro.

Here I’m wearing the Smoke makeup of ploom’s Maia skins.  This makeup really goes with just about anything; it’s very versatile.  Here are the other three colors of Maestro – Ice (blue), Ivory, and Fawn (brown).

Isn’t Maestro just the sweetest little dress?  You really need to see Iki’s ads for the dresses, too.  She looks adorable pairing a little beret with the dresses.  I’m wearing a different Maia makeup with each color of Maestro in this composite, so here’s a closeup of the makeups for you.   Click to see it full size, plz.

Oh, I had to add in a closeup of the lovely details on the skirt.  Everything is hand drawn to perfection – seriously, zoom in on that bodice with the covered buttons and lace.  The skirt also features lace details and a music motif with notes and treble clefs.  Check out the tops of the stockings, too, with the lace/ribbon.  Damn!  I wish I could draw like that!  But anywho, the makeups worn here are (left to right, top to bottom) Melon, Jungle, 14K, and Gloomy Day (which was a Project Themeory addition last weekend).

Well, that’s it for now.  I have hunting to do!  I started a fantastic hunt last night and am almost finished.  I’ll be showing you some amazing free stuff from that hunt next.  Which hunt is it?  There are so many hunts going on, it could be a number of hunts.  But which one is it?  Hee hee… you’ll just have to “stay tuned.”

Happy hunting, gathering, shopping, etc. *mwah*!

BlakOpal – Scandalous Pirates and Ethereal Elves

Blak Opal, that wonderful old (by SL standards) store known for Victorian and pirate attire has two new releases – one a lovely gown (which I have “elved up”) and the other a sexy pirate outfit.  So, let’s get started!

This is the Scandalous Pirate outfit.  What makes it scandalous, you ask?  Well, it doesn’t come with panties for one thing. 😀  And I guess that open jacket with no undershirt is kind of scandalous.  It comes with two tattoos – one on the chest and one on the arms.  I don’t normally use Viewer 2, so I couldn’t wear them both at the same time.  Without the jacket, the chest tattoo pretty much covers most of your naughty bits, so it’s pretty sexy.  I should have shown you that, huh? (sheep face)  It comes with the sexy fishnets, a tattered wisp of a skirt, the sash, and the coat tails.  The jacket/coat has lots of prim parts, like puffy sleeves, upper and lower bands, and a prim collar.  The boots are not very pirate-y, I know, but I wanted to wear these gorgeous shiny red ankle boots I won in the Midnight Mania at Drakke recently.  I love how the heels of Drakke’s boots are such a pretty silver metallic.  My pictures don’t really do them justice.  Did you notice I’m wearing two different makeups in these pics?  The red-striped makeup is Violent Seduction’s Still Doll in the Healer makeup.  The other is Still Doll bare with a new makeup tattoo from Nomine.  Yes, Munch is back!  She’s got a ton of new releases and a total rebuild of her sim/store, too!  Plus, the lucky chairs are freshly loaded with items – you gotta go!   I’ll try to show you more of Munch’s new stuff soon, but in the meantime, this makeup tattoo works really well with Violent Seduction’s skins.  I remember posting once that Munch should really do makeup tattoos because her eye makeup and lipsticks are just divine.   Well, I take no credit for her decision to do these, but I am thrilled anyway. This makeup is from the Papillon Babylon set and features very dramatic eye makeup and luscious red lips.  Here, take a closer look.

Yum, no?!  I’m also loving my Scribble ears which are so easy to match to any skin tone using the “show color under cursor” feature.  Oh, by the way, are you looking for avatar physics presets?  Well, BlakOpal has a set for free which includes one for men (hmmm, wonders what that would look like!), a bouncy preset, a soft preset, and a corseted preset.  The physics feature is so much fun to watch.  It really makes one’s avatar come alive in a whole new way.

As I mentioned, BlakOpal also has a new gown that doubles as a mini dress.  It comes in blue, black, red, and the color I’ll show you – white.

Coraline is quite sexy with the open bodice that magically stays put without straps of any kind. 😉  It comes with the pretty prim silver belt and the gartered stockings.  I’m wearing some vintage lace jewelry I picked up at League during Fifty Linden Friday – both as a necklace and as bracelets.  The shoes are so darned cute – they’re from Dilly Dolls and were released at the Shoe Fair recently (while I was busy busy busy in RL and couldn’t blog them). They’re color change – the shoe, the strap, and the little ruffle on the front, independently.  Endless combinations are possible.  I never wear flats, but these are just lovely!  Do you like my attempt at fancy photography?  This was done using a background from Props n Poses (PnP), which recently gave a huge box of backgrounds and poses to group members.  I also did a little GIMP magic and voila.  I’m fairly pleased with the result (remember, I have no artistic talent!)  Want to see more options for Coraline?

The gown features a very long train that flows behind you perfectly.  The gown comes in several pieces, including leg prims, to give it that full look.  So lovely!  The skin is from ploom – the lovely Maia in the blush makeup, which I love so much.  Here’s a closeup.

So sweet!  What a completely different look, no?  You can also see the pretty lace jewelry from League better here.  I honestly was wondering what I’d ever wear the lace jewelry with after I’d bought it.  I’m quite happy with these results. 🙂   I took a few more pics of this outfit all fancy-like, so I’ll add them to my underused Flickr page.  Go see ’em here if you’re interested.  Until next time…

Happy hunting, gathering, shopping, etc. *mwah*!

More Stuff I’ve Been Meaning to Blog That Probably Isn’t on Sale Anymore….

Yeah, I’ve got a backlog so damned long that it’s frustrating the hell out of me.  I’m just gonna have to realize that I won’t be able to “catch up.”  But I’ll do my best.  I also don’t have full-time access to my desktop coz my kids are home for summer vacation and bored to tears without their school laptops.  Sigh.  I’ve carved out an evening-time niche for myself though. 😀

Anyway, I’m so happy about two designers that released new skins that I definitely want to show you those.  First up, Violent Seduction’s new skins – Still Doll.  I wore one of the makeups in my last post, but today I’ll show you the whole kit and kaboodle.  (Who says that anymore? Sheesh.)

Isn’t it yummy?!  The skins come in only this tone as far as I know, with and without subtle freckles.  This particular makeup is called Pin Up and is one of the more “normal” makeups.  There are also some awesome gothy makeups, which is really what I love about these skins.  And by the way, SL was being a bitch when I was shooting these pics.  I couldn’t get the entire picture area to rez *at the same time* so you may see some fuzziness that in no way is a flaw in the skins, k?  Before I show you the prettiful skins, though, let me show you the rest of this cute grungy dress from Rotten Defiance.  I picked this up at a weekend sale recently (when?  don’t remember – a week or 2 ago?)

I had to have this dress coz of the bustle on the back.  I’m a sucker for a nice bustle.  It comes in lots of other grungy colors, but this one is the Moonlight shade.  It also comes with the nice feathery headband.  Yay!  Lagniappe!  Those beautiful white gothy boots are from Drakke, which I nabbed at the Shoe Fair.  That’s ending very soon (if it hasn’t already ended), so I’ll give you the LM directly to Drakke.  They’ve recently moved to a bigger place, too.  Let me show you a closeup of those boots before I show you the skins coz they have some interesting details.

Do you see those little caged locks on the soles next to the heels?  They spin!  Very cool. 😀  And these boots are *white*as you can see – not off-white or grey posing as white.  I can’t wait to wear them with some Blue Blood Whitegoth dresses.

Okay, finally, Violent Seduction’s Still Doll skins…

Hindsight always being 20/20, I realize that I shouldn’t have used a pose where my arm was up, bending over my head like that.  The arm looks weird; I hope it doesn’t distract you from the loveliness of Iki’s skins. :/  Aren’t they amazingly gothy?  Ok, here are the names of the skins from top to bottom, left to right:  Base with freckles; Base without freckles; Blue Moon with freckles; Candy; Fallout; Healer; Pinup; Red Eyes; Tears with freckles. Not shown are the no freckles options for Blue Moon and Tears.   Some of the makeups (Candy, Healer, Pin Up, and Red Eyes) don’t come with a freckles option.   Now I see what Iki has been up to all these months while she was away at graphic design school. 😀    Oh, the hair I’m wearing in the skins composite is the new free color demo from Exile – you get a fatpack including all the colors (new and old) in this cute ponytail with side-swept bangs hairdo.  I’m wearing another new Exile hairstyle in the other photos.  Exile released like four new styles recently and I went nuts as usual and bought half of them.  Check the details below for more info on everything worn here.

Ok, that’s it for today/night.  Until next time….

Happy hunting, gathering, shopping, etc. *mwah*!

Carnival Sinistre Ends Soon!

I’ve been meaning to blog these fantastic outfits I picked up at the Guild of Gloom’s Carnival Sinistre, benefitting the Sophie Lancaster Foundation.  If you love goth and alternative stuff, you just can’t miss this event.  It ends on May 14, so time is running out.  Here are just a few of the things I picked up at the Carnival.

This is from Bubble, and while it’s not the charity item, I had to have it.  It’s similar to the item Bubble created for one of the Japanese fundraisers, but this one is zombified with *brains* on the caged skirt.  😀  The hair is new from ploom – love it!  Helyanwe released three new styles a few days ago.  This is my favorite – Tweedle.  It’s a classic ploom style with the punkish side ponies.  I’m wearing Belleza’s recent group gift skin, Aiko.  Yes, that is Aiko. lol  I’ve “enhanced” it with makeup on the tattoo layer from Fallen Arts, available at the Carnival, called Doll Face.  Love it!

Likka*House has this dress – Patsy – which comes in two color combinations – Circus and Parade.  As you can see, you can wear it with the little skirt and stockings or with the long pants.  Each dress also comes with a matching hat and choker.  This dress is Likka*House’s donation item for the event.  And yes, I’m still wearing ploom’s Tweedle.

This one is from PunkD Out, called Carnivalee.  It comes with the boots and the hat (and the armwarmers, sleeve ruffles, choker, and skirt).  Cute, no?  The hair is another new style from ploom called Katey.  I love the little hairs that stick out on the sides.  You almost don’t need to wear elfie ears!  This style comes with chest attachment pieces so that your hair doesn’t sink into your chest.  Thanks, Hely!   I’m also wearing a different skin here.  This is a new skin from Iren, available for an excellent price at the Fashion Garrett, called Barbara.  I’ve enhanced it with another tattoo layer makeup from Fallen Arts called Tears 2.

This is Indigo Oddities’ charity item, Evil Evie.  It comes with the matching hat.  Here I’m wearing ploom’s Katey style, but this time without the chest attachment piece.  You can see what a difference the chest attachment makes.  The necklace is from League.  I saw it during the Fifty Linden Friday sale recently and had to have it.   It’s a raven head!  You know my penchant for crows and ravens. 🙂

I’m almost finished with this long post that has taken me almost a week to photograph (coz my “fun” time is limited right now).  I have two more to show you, both from Hooligan.

This is the charity item, called Ringmaster.  It comes with those awesome spiky, red latex boots, the hat, the necklace, and the belt with neat attachments.  The hair is the third new style from ploom – Bonni.  It’s so punky!  Short side ponies, long dangling forelocks, and color change streaks.  Another winner from ploom!  The makeup enhancer I’m wearing here is a charity item at the Carnival from Squeek.  For a very reasonable price, you get this fun swirly eye makeup in several different colors.

This last outfit is also from Hooligan and is called Final Bow.  I don’t think it’s a charity item, but I liked it, so I bought it. 🙂  It comes with the necklace (the same one as the Ringmaster outfit), the really cool cuffs with strapped rings, and the boots!  The Black Mamacita earrings from Ripe completed the “look” nicely.  I wish I could remember where I picked up the earrings, but they also came as a set with a necklace.   This hair – Army of Me – is from Shag and is available as a limited edition available at the Culture Shock event.  It’s pretty much a unisex style and comes with a men’s version as well.  I wish I had shown you the back coz it’s shaved, so you have to wear a hairbase with it (unless you want to look really bizarre – not that there’s anything wrong with that).  And the skin is new from ATOMIC!  Hooray!  Ivy Graves has finally made new skins!  Look at that eye makeup – love it!  I’m not wearing any “enhancements” with this skin, other than an Amacci hairbase.  This skin is *gorgeous*!  There’s also a new Atomic group gift – another Lien skin in a different makeup.  The group is closed to new members during the duration, though.  Boy, am I glad I waited and didn’t leave the group!

Ok, my lovelies.  Don’t forget that the Carnival Sinistre will be ending soon.  Go check it out because there are plenty of other awesome things to grab there that I haven’t shown you.  Until next time…

Happy hunting, gathering, shopping, etc. *mwah*!

Blak Opal Freebie – Bettie Corset Dress/Lingerie

Blak Opal is participating in the Pin Up Army Hunt which runs through March 12.  Their hunt gift is a sexy corset dress with lingerie that has an oriental flair to it.

Remember to click to make the pics larger.  As you can see, you get two bodice options – solid and semi-sheer.  The dress features a waist cincher corset covered in satin brocade dragons and rosebud embroidered silk trimmed with beaded braid. The corset is open at the back, fastened with four buckles. The skirt is made with lots of semi-sheer layers of  fabric that move and flow as you walk.  The bodice top has spaghetti straps with lace trim at the front.  Under the skirt is a garter belt in fabric to match the corset, with rosebud trim. The garters hold up sheer stockings, and there is a matching panty to finish off this sexy ensemble.  And how much is this lovely outfit?  Free!  You’ll be looking for a gold star as shown on the hunt poster below.

And if  you’re interested in finding more gifts in this hunt, you can read about it here.  Note, this is not the official blog for the hunt, but it seems to have the most information. 🙂  Ok… bye for now; I’ll be back shortly with another post.  I’m in love with a dress from Curious Kitties’ Gothic Fuzz store!  Must show you!

Happy hunting, gathering, shopping, etc. *mwah*!

Dilly Dolls – Oops Cupid! and L$20 skin – today only!

Dilly Dolls released the cutest Valentine’s, or maybe anti-Valentine’s dress on Saturday.  It’s only available at the Chic, Ltd. event organized by Keira Seerose, which features original designs from many of SL’s hottest stores.  The good news is that you can buy the dress as a fatpack, or individually.  Oriana stopped selling her dresses individually a few months ago, so this is an uncommon thing.  But you may want all the colors anyway coz they’re so darned cute.  Oops Cupid! is a mural dress that features a hand-drawn panel on the front of the skirt that depicts an unintentionally homicidal Cupid.  Take a look.

Click to enlarge, as usual, and you will see the panel clearly.  Little puppy Cupid has unintentionally caused a bloodbath in irrepressibly cute animal land, as the poor little kitty and bunny lie in pools of blood, struck by Cupid’s arrows.  The depiction is so cute, despite the gruesome subject matter, aided by the bright, candy colors of the dresses.  I should have put a warning on this post – warning!  colors may make eyes bleed! – lol.  And look how perfectly the Dilly Dolls Stella Dollies match the dress.  I’m wearing the dark pair, which is scripted to color-change on click.  Yep, they match Ori’s entire color palette (plus some).  Oops Cupid comes in eight colors; here are four more of them.

Shown are the violet, teal, brown, and blue versions.  Look at those shiny shoes, right?  I had fun with the hair – ploom styles, of course – and also found this older dolly makeup in my inventory that was a Valentine’s gift from Nomine in the past.  Ok, I have three more colors to show you – green, grey, and red.

I had been waiting for the right outfit to wear with these green boots – a hunt gift from Weird Designs.  The boots have syringes with green fluid stuck all over.  They’re so shiny, too!  Oh, the jewelry worn with the red and pink outfits was a Fifty Linden Friday jewelry set from League – very cute wings, hearts, etc. with a red stone.  The set came with several necklace styles and lengths and two pairs of earrings (or maybe 3 – it was quite a good bargain).   So, are you set for Valentine’s Day?  or maybe Anti-Valentine’s Day?  I personally am in the latter camp, but if you are lucky enough to have someone who makes your toes curl and your heart skip a beat – Happy Valentine’s Day!

Stop the presses!  This just in!  Dilly Dolls has a Valentine’s Day special for you!  It’s a new skin, Lillie, in one makeup (Jana) in 6 tones for only L$20.  This is a quick pic I took of it when I logged in just now.  This is the Marshmallow (the lightest) tone.

Happy hunting, gathering, shopping, etc. *mwah*!
