Souled Out, Morphine, et al.

0

Hello, lovely ones.  I’ve been busy both in RL and SL lately.  The marking period came to an end in RL, so I was busy grading; as for SL, it’s been hunts and fairs and festivals – oh my!  One cool outfit I found in a hunt is from Souled Out for the Mysteries of the Sea Hunt.  I know – not exactly a mermaid outfit, is it?  That’s why I had to nab it and show it to you!  The outfit consists of the mesh dress *and* the boots – what a bargain for only L$5!  And you have until April 10th to find it.  I also spent some time doing the Black Crowes Hunt (how could I resist?), and picked up the really nice choker (among other jewelry in the folder) at Adoness.  Cost?  L$10.  You have just until March 25th to grab the goodies in this hunt.

Souled Out Davy Jones 1

My next outing was to the Luck of the Irish Gacha Fair – soooooo much good stuff there!  I picked up the awesome wings from Arise and the nicely crafted legchain from Death Row Designs.  But I wasn’t finished shopping!  Of course not.  There’s always more to grab in SL, so next up was the Skin Fair.  Isn’t this skin from Morphine just lovely?  If you’re looking for a “normal” skin – for non-roleplayers, non-goths, etc., then my pictures here don’t do Morphine’s work justice because, believe me, the skin is gorgeous.  I’m wearing Morphine’s new-for-Skin Fair Ghail skin with the add-on lipstick.  I’m also wearing lovely eyes from Morphine as well, in my favorite color – pale grey.

Souled Out Davy Jones 2

Truth came out with new hair recently, and I had to have this one – I love it when Truth does unusual styles!  This is Maisy (in black, of course), worn with the included buns.  They are optional, however, if you’d rather not wear them (nice touch).  In the next pic, you can see the lovely blush on the Morphine skin.  Usually, I don’t like skins with blush added; I usually find they’re too “cute” for me, but Morphine does it right here – love it!  My awesome piercings are from the inimitable Haus of Darcy.  This is an older set called Provocation, which I love because there are little unholy crosses on the lip piercings.  Provocation comes with a chest piercing as well, which you’ll notice on my chest right below the Adoness choker.  If you’re new to HoD, be advised there are three floors of older piercings at reduced prices.  Trust me, you’ll find some real bargains there for the quality of these piercings.

Well, that’s about it.  For any worn items not mentioned, and for a landmark to my photo location, keep reading below!  Until next time, happy hunting, gathering, shopping, etc. *mwah*!

BlakOpal Unleashes a Sexy Chanteuse

0

Well, Fantasy Faire began today, and I’m on the official blogger list, but I’ve got some overdue posts, so I’m going to finish those up before I start showing you FF items, ‘k?  So, tonight’s post is about BlakOpal, that bastion of gothic goodness.  The fine folks over there have a new release, and she is stunning.  I’ll let the pictures do the talking.

Do I like this outfit.  No.  I don’t.  I LOVE it!  Hee hee.  It is sooo sexy.  Am I on a burlesque kick or what?  Well, excuse me, but some gorgeous new burlesque items have come out lately, and I just have to blog them since burlesque is my favorite style!  The outfit includes the top, burlesque skirt, which is made a bit differently than most I’ve seen, but works beautifully.  The skirt prims include the bottom portion of the corset.  You’d think there’d be a problem matching up those seams, but nope – none at all.  It flowed together seamlessly.  The Chanteuse dress comes in at least three colors that I’ll show you – this beautiful red, plus blue and purple.  Before I show you the other colors, let me tell you what else I’m wearing.  My boots are (once again) the Angeline boots from Lapointe and Bastchild.  I’m just so in love with these boots!  (And they’re not even a new release!  But they’re just so yummy!)  My necklace is a new item from +:+WTG+:+for Stuff in Stock called The Sun 2012.  it’s a fairly simple, yet intricate necklace.  Oxymoron?  Mayhaps lol.  Nothing from +:+WTG+:+ is really simple.  Their primwork is amazing.  This necklace, though, is not as intricate as some of their other pieces.  Not that there’s anything wrong with that!  It’s a beautiful piece, and it’s unisex, too.  The earrings are also from WTG (and blogged previously).  My hair is Truth’s Auralee (a very pretty style), and my skin is once again Illusory’s offering for Collabor88.  I love this skin sooo much!  Oh, my hair adornments are not part of the Truth hair.  They’re actually part of something I’ll be blogging for Fantasy Faire from Lupoaica (more about that later).  Ok, more pics of Chanteuse.

I particularly love this blue because of the two tones of blue used.  Those two different colors really add some visual interest, I think.

And this purple is just lovely, too.  I hope you love them as much as I do.  If so, head over to BlakOpal and get yours.  While you’re there, be sure to pick up the new ladies (and gents) freebies next to the staircase.  Until next time…

Happy hunting, gathering, shopping, etc. *mwah*!

Bubblez Does Burlesque

0

Well, you must know that I love burlesque.  The clothes are so sexy despite the fact that they often don’t reveal much.  It’s the fantasy that’s so sexy, I guess.  But anyway, Bubblez Designs has a rather new burlesque outfit that I think is super sexy and cute at the same time.

I love the little dangling bodice that gives you a glance of nipple hiding behind the black lace bra.  So sexy!  The outfit includes the cute hat, too.  I’ve added quite a few accessories because I went on a bit of a shopping binge last weekend (and then RL promptly kicked my butt and wouldn’t allow me to log in for a week.  Typical.)  So, I’m wearing an amazing jewelry set from +:+WTG+:+ called Dragon Fes.  Do you see that awesome monocle?  It’s a dragon head over the nose with his curled tail forming the monocle.  Love it!  The glass is color-change via click, too.  Dragon Fes also has two different bracelets – I’m wearing both of them as well – one on each wrist.  One is leather with silver accents, and the other is all silver.  The eyewear and bracelets are sold separately.  I love my necklace, too!  It’s from LouLou&Co. and you know how great her jewelry is!  Well, if you don’t, then you owe it to yourself to check it out!  This is the Dulce Muerte (ah, Sweet Death!) V1 necklace.  There’s also a version 2 that’s a bit different (bloodier if I recollect correctly).  My earrings and skin are both from the latest Collabor88.  The skin is by Illusory, of course, another makeup of the Love skin that is probably the best damned bargain on the grid for only L$88!  The mesh Eiffel Tower earrings are from Intrigue & Co., also for Collabor88.  My boots are from Lapointe & Bastchild (told you that you’d see these again lol); these are the gorgeous Angeline ankle boots.  My hair is a subscriber gift from Truth that I’m sure everyone has seen blogged by now.  It was sent out for Easter and is called Bunny.  Thank you, Truth, for gifting us a style that we can wear all year round!  This one is uber cute, too!

I hope to be back soon, but until then…

Happy hunting, gathering, shopping, etc. *mwah*!

Ezura for Fashion for Life

1

Have you been to Fashion for Life yet?  I’ve been and it was wonderfully non-laggy!  It’s also for a very good cause, so please find time to go shop ’til you drop before it ends on Tuesday, March 20.  Tonight I want to show you Ezura’s offerings for FFL – all beautiful gothy outfits.

Well, this one isn’t particularly gothy, is it?  No, it’s a beautiful, form-fitting mesh gown called Aria in a limited edition color for FFL.  It hugs every curve dramatically and is a dream to wear.  It comes in several sizes to fit any just about anyone.  I had to bring out my favorite hairstyle from the last six months, the Callista style from Exile.  I really love this hairstyle!  I’m wearing some beautiful new earrings called Ribbon Classic from +:+WTG+:+ which are color change – the metals, pearls, and diamonds – into several colors.

Now, *this* is gothic!  Isn’t it just gorgeous?  It’s the new Gothic Lolita Coat Dress created just for FFL.   Look at that fancy jabot with the chain details.  I love how Ezura matched the pattern of the jabot on the cuffs.  This is a must-have outfit for any gothic lolita.  The dramatic makeup is new from Matrioska.  Ghani released three new skins with the makeup on separate tattoo layers so you can wear them with other skins.  I’ve added the Deva makeup to my Illusory Paige skin.  The boots are the latest release from Lassitude & Ennui – the Wanderlust boots in black.  They’re mesh and fit perfectly.  I just love mesh!  Look how the ankle bends with any pose!  No more “broken” ankle joints!

I was having Internet connection problems and ended up photographing this outfit in multiple sessions.  I decided to change my hair to the new release from Exile for the Dressing Room, but really should have used the makeup worn in the left picture for all of them.  If you click to enlarge, you’ll see I’m wearing another new Matrioska makeup called Samara.  But, anyway, the dress!  Isn’t it pretty!  The Insomnia Dark Lolita set comes with the  top, corset, and jacket on separate layers in case you want to be naughty and bare your breasts.  The skirt is wonderfully lacy and almost feathery and comes with a matching tiny jacket and arm and wrist embellishments.  I’m also wearing the matching necklace for the earrings in my last picture.  Gorgeous pearls and diamonds in either black or white with three choices of metals.  I just love +:+WTG+:+!  Such exquisite jewelry!  How about those shoes?  How cool are they?  Here’s a closeup for you.  Click if you want to see it ridiculously large. 😀  It’s the fourth donation item from Ezura for FFL.

Well, that’s about it.  If you’ve been hiding under a rock (*wink*) and need more information about Fashion for Life, you can read all about it here.

Until next time, happy hunting, gathering, shopping, etc. *mwah*!

Kouse’s Sanctum and Hush at Fashion for Life

0

Hey, everyone.  Tonight’s post is a bit unusual for me – not completely unusual coz I have blogged gowns before.  But tonight’s fashion is not my usual dolly or goth attire.  Tonight I want to tell y’all about Fashion for Life and particularly about Kouse’s Sanctum’s beautiful new gowns for that event.  Everyone knows about Fashion for Life by now, I’m sure.  If you haven’t heard about it, you’ve probably been away tending to RL or hiding under a virtual rock!  Fashion for Life is the longest running and most successful fashion fair in Second Life ™ and marks the annual start of the official Relay for Life events that take place inworld each year.  All donations are given directly to the Relay for Life general fund which benefits the American Cancer Society and its thousands of beneficiaries who rely on the charity for support and advice.  Fashion for Life is one hundred percent not for profit, and all organisation, building work and coordination are driven by the work of its volunteers which helps to maximize donated money.    The feeds are covered with posts about the event.  Here’s my first contribution!

Do you like purple?  Well, you’re going to love the beautiful gowns Kouse’s Sanctum has for FFL.  Let’s begin with my favorite, the Tranquility gown.

So lovely!  I love the silver trim along the skirt, overskirt, and bodice.  And such a pretty shade of purple.  My hair is a new release from Truth – Kathy, worn with the streaks option.  This is not a FFL item, guys.  But my pretty skin is!  It’s from a new to me store called Hush.  It’s the Amy skin in the totally serendipitous makeup called Glossy Grape.  This is the Sugar tone – the lightest – but it comes in several darker tones as well.  Each skin includes several brow options, as well as a cleavage or no cleavage option.  The skin is a composite type skin of photo sourced and hand drawn elements.  It’s a very pretty example of this type, too.  My gorgeous nails with ornaments and ring is new from +:+WTG+:+ -the Ribbon Classic Jeweled Nails.  The nails have little jeweled ribbons on each nail and is just amazing.  It comes with a HUD to change just about everything – the nail colors, jewel colors, ribbon colors, etc.  It also comes in several sizes to fit most hand sizes.  The earrings and necklace is new from Dark Mouse – Les Etoiles Brillent in silver.  (The name means “the stars shine” by the way.)  These are on sale right now for a special price. Ok.  Let’s see some more of the gorgeous gowns from Kouse’s Sanctum!

This is the Juniper gown and is perfect for role playing in Medieval sims, or just wearing around coz it’s pretty!  It features puffy sleeve tops and long, flowing three-quarter sleeves.  Here you can see the gorgeous nails from +:+WTG+:+ even better.  So fancy!  Oh, here you can also see my pretty Lassitude & Ennui Boudoir Mules (shoes) that I’m wearing in the purple color.

This Selah gown is the most elegant of the four, I think.  I love that jeweled bodice and flowing skirt.  I love how the gown is fitted at the hips and butt, but then flows so beautifully afterward.  The ruffled bodice top just finishes the gown off spectacularly.  This gown made me feel so elegant that I could picture myself dancing in a ballroom with some handsome flirt, like I did in my early days of SL. 🙂  There’s still one more gown to show you.  Last, but certainly not least, is the Madison gown.

Madison features a patterned inset down the center of the bodice, plus you get two different skirts – a slim skirt, and a ball gown skirt.  Both are yummy.  Madison has lace chest ruffles and lace ruffled straps to embellish this lovely gown.  Well, I hope you enjoyed my little sojourn into the world of fancy ballgowns.  I know I did!

Here’s a bit more information about Fashion for Life, but you can find even more information on the official website here.

  • This year, Fashion for Life spans an incredible ten lag-free sims with over 200 stores selling the latest fashions, accessories, hair and unique designer items made especially for this event. There will also be gacha areas, a hunt, a raffle and a SALE- all with the end goal of raising funds for the American Cancer Society via SL.  The sims will be laid out in a cross formation and will represent the theme “Its Time…” with builds representing stages in time: past, present, future and timeless. All building and landscaping have been created by some of SL’s top designers and builders to produce a beautiful environment for your charity shopping sprees!  Alongside the fabulous fashion, there will be a sim dedicated to providing a minimum of 12 hours entertainment and activities every day, so you can socialize, have fun and meet new people, too.  The sims have been kindly sponsored by ‘Dream Seeker Estate Corporation’ which has drastically reduced administrative expenses, helping to free up even more money for Relay for Life.

Well, until next time…

Happy hunting, gathering, shopping, etc. *mwah*!

+++Blue Blood+++ New Release – Diana

0

I’ve been crazy busy in RL, grading papers, etc., before the current term ends, but I managed to take a few photos of Ghani’s beautiful new Diana dress recently.  Let me tell you, the better your computer, the more beautiful Ghani’s textures are.  I thought they were perfection on my old desktop, but gazing at them on my new desktop (a/k/a “the Beast”) is mindblowing.

Diana’s distinguishing feature is its large, sculpted tulip shaped skirt.  Yes, you can’t bend too much, but if you have a prim and proper type AO, you’ll have no problem looking regal in this dress.  The underskirt is beautiful, too.  As I mentioned in the post I just did on the store blog, I love the arm warmers.  The texture of the lacing is just yummy.  This time, Ghani has included a little belt that adorns the bodice and a pretty drop necklace.  Both accessories feature a dangling tulip.  The bodice of the corset has a rich paisley pattern.  I was feeling a vampire gothic lolita vibe here, so I decided to wear my Illusory Paige skin in the “Bite Me” makeup – yummy bloody mouth like a freshly fed vamp. 🙂  Oh my goodness, I almost forgot the boots!!  Lassitude & Ennui, one of my favorite shoe and boot designers coz they make wonderful Victorian and gothic styles – all very refined and ornately detailed – has a new release – the Wanderlust Boots.  They come in three colors of meshy goodness – these are black, of course.  They come in several sizes, so one is sure to fit your avatar.  The medium size fits me like a glove (or a boot, rather…lol).

The hair is from Truth – a recent partial mesh release.  The chest portion is mesh so that it doesn’t fall through your body.  Love that!  It’s called Maggie, by the way.  Well, that’s about it.  I’m pretty tired so my brain can’t think of anything else to add.  I can’t wait for the weekend. sigh  Until next time…

Happy hunting, gathering, shopping, etc. *mwah*!

BlakOpal – New Orchestra Gown – featuring *mesh*!

0

Hey, y’all.  Haven’t had to blog as often as I would have liked this week, but it’s Friday!  Whooot!  So, I’ve got a beautiful new gown to show you all.  BlakOpal, which specializes in Victorian (read “classy gothic”) clothing, released a new gown for the ladies called Orchestra.  While the gown is not completely made of mesh, you will need the mesh viewer to enjoy it properly.  The gown has mesh pieces as well as traditional prim pieces.  The orchid hair flower and the golden orchid embellishments on the back of the dress are mesh.  I love it because they don’t disappear into my body – yay!  Here’s what I’m talking about…

Very elegant, no?  The dress’ skirt prims move beautifully, too, so this would be a perfect dress for dancing.  All in all, I think it’s pretty cool that creators are experimenting more and more with mesh.  It does seem to be working better and better for me.  Although sometimes I wish the damned viewer would just *REZ* ffs.  I can’t count how many times I rebake in one photo session.  Anyway, here’s another shot..

Let’s talk about the skin, shall we?  How the hell did I miss Illusory coming out with a skin way back in January??  I remember being in the VIP group for months with no notices, so I finally dropped the group to make room for a more active one.  Well, I could kick myself coz I apparently missed some awesome group gifts since January until now.  Look at that face!!  This is the newest makeup for the enchanting Paige skin which has been out since January (sigh).  And best yet, it’s only L$88 at the Collabor88 Event.  But I’m sure you’ve seen it blogged a gazillion times already.  It’s a great vampire skin coz it has subtle little veins showing just under the translucent skin.  It comes with the teeth drawn on the lips, too.  Love it so much!!  So much that I ran over to Illusory to see if there were any more makeups for this skin.  Yeah, that’s how I found out about the previous releases.  (kicks self).

The hair is from Truth – one of the latest releases (well, last Friday’s anyway) called Isla, in a gorgeous cranberry shade.  The eyes are new from Amacci – these are the Fudge eyes.  The jewelry is not new at all – the ring is from Virtual/Insanity, and the earrings and bracelets are all from U & R Dogs.

Well, that’s it for now.  Hope you enjoyed my ramblings.  Until next time….

Happy hunting, gathering, shopping, etc. *mwah*!

!WhAtEvR!

0

Hey, I’m back again after another long pause.  My desktop went kaput after a nearby lightning strike, and it took me awhile to get it fixed.  Sigh.  Maybe the gods are trying to tell me something.  Nah…..  So, I really feel like I am completely out of the loop on all things SL-Fashion related.  Luckily, Belladonna from !WhAtEvR! also recently returned to SL after a long pause and she thought of me and my little semi-dormant blog.  So, here I am to promote her wares. 😀

Whatever has a new location (see LM below) and a few new items, plus a lucky toilet, a Midnight Mania, and I’m pretty sure a Riot Vendor.  True to form, Bella also has some gifts for her visitors.

This is a new release, which is not free, but is quite a bargain anyway.  It’s the Flying Fox avatar, and it comes with everything shown except the shape, hair, and wings.  I just love those long, long claws on the hands and feet.  If you like the wings, Bella recommends, and I agree, the Sculpted Demon Wings from Sensations.  You can get them on the Marketplace, too.  That’s what I did.  More about the wings at the end of this post.

This lovely white version of the Flying Fox avatar (albino version, actually) is free to members of !WhAtEvR!’s inworld group.  It comes with everything the black version does, except in white.  I’m still wearing the Sensations’ wings, which are color change – oh yeah!

Another new release at !WhAtEvR! is this sexy little number, which last time I checked was also available in the Midnight Mania board.

It’s a super short black leather mini skirt with a laced leather corset and leather gloves with sculpted bunches.  You get several wearing/layer options for all the pieces, including showing your nips or not.  The shoes I’m wearing are from Roots –  and please do *not* zoom in on them.  I thought they went perfectly with the outfit, but I wasn’t able to edit the color of the prim feet to match my new skin.  If you wear skin from RedMint though, they’ll match perfectly.  Being rather rusty at GIMPing after my long absence, I did an awful job post-processing them to match.  Don’t worry, I would have told you the pics were post-processed even if I had been successful at it.  The skin is another piece of good news – it’s new and free.  It comes in this makeup – Pale Dark Beauty – and one other – for free.  Did I mention they’re free? 😉

Here’s another shot I took of the group gift Albino Flying Fox avatar – a closeup.  I am constantly amazed at how well ploom’s hair textures match just about any look I throw together.  Helyanwe has so many colors, you’re sure to find the perfect tone.

Ok.  Before I leave you, I must tell you more about those fantastic wings from Sensations.  I’m sure they’ve been blogged, but maybe you’ve been away like me.  So, they are color change, you get both male and female versions (incubus and succubus) in one folder, and they are amazingly animated.  They flap, fold, spread – all HUD controlled.  And they are a bargain at under L$700.  You can check them out (and even buy them) here.

Happy hunting, gathering, shopping, etc. *mwah*!

Project Fur – Helping our Furry Friends in Japan

0

As a lifetime animal lover, and the mother of several “children with fur,” I jumped at the chance to help out with Project FUR – a fundraiser for JEARS (Japan Earthquake Animal Rescue and Support). This charity is comprised of 3 private no kill animal welfare organizations in Japan. They are rescuing and providing medical care for lost and abandoned animals after the horrible earthquake and resulting tsunami in Japan. The proceeds of all items sold go 100% to the charity.  Thank you to the very kind and generous designers/donors!  My contribution is only to purchase items and to blog them, but hopefully I’ll encourage you to do some shopping.  So, if you want to donate to a good cause, and also pick up some wonderful items, Project FUR is for you!  The first outfit I’ll show you today is from Aftershok.  I think Crimson Tide is my favorite with its bold black, white, and red elements.

I love this dress!  Look at those cute silver dangling bits at the waistline!  Now, don’t get too excited coz the wings don’t come with the outfit.  Those were Favole’s Twisted Hunt prize that I blogged previously.  But I thought they complemented the dress nicely.  I love how the stockings match the pattern on the bra portion of the bodice, too.  I’m also wearing several other items that I picked up at Project FUR.  The boots are from mJ’Ds and are only L$100 – they also come in red.  The hair is a must-have – a *fatpack* of colors from Truth of BabyDoll (reminiscent of the lead character in the new movie Sucker Punch).  The hairband is col0r-change, and the hair comes in streaked and non-streaked versions.  I forget the exact price, but it’s *extremely* reasonable for a Truth fatpack, trust me!  The cute nom nom and the necklace are from LouLou&Co. and is available at the event as well.  Here’s a closeup so you can see it better.

How cute is that?  Yep, it’s a necklace with a panda, and a mouth attachment of a panda on a beaded leather string.  It looks like her bracelet broke and she’s wearing it in her mouth now. :))  Continuing the red, black, white theme, we have Sassy Kitty Designs’ offering for Project FUR.

This kimono dress comes in two colors for one price, and there are two different color versions available for purchase.  Of course, I went with the white/red and the white/black pack.  Again, the price is very reasonable, although I can’t remember for certain how much it was.  It comes with sculpted sleeves and a panty so that you don’t show  your naughty bits.  As you can see, the “dress” is very short. 😀  It also comes with the Japanese hairsticks.  The shoes are not part of the outfit or Project FUR.  Here’s the white/black version, along with a blonde tone of Truth’s BabyDoll hair.

Likka*House also has a new item made specially for Project FUR.  Have you ever wanted to be a semi-furry gray kitty?  Well, I have!  Look how cute this one is!

This is the Ragdoll outfit in gray, which consists of the bra top, choker, wristbands, fuzzy “pants,” ears, and tail.  Those pants are really furry, too!  I don’t recommend wearing them in low lag areas, that’s for sure.  With this outfit on, my ARC topped out over 9000!  But it’s so much fun!  The ears and tail both twitch (or not – you choose).  The hair is another new item for Project FUR – Magika’s Sophie hair in a special “coontail” recoloring.  It comes in several colors, individually sold.  I grabbed the red coz I’m kinda lovin’ the red shades these days.  I don’t know why.  The Hello Kitty FUR Japan plushie is a freebie from Heartsick.  Here’s another shot of the Ragdoll outfit.

See?  I told you it was furry; it’s fluffy, too!    Ok, I have one more item from Project FUR to show you.  This one is from Dilly Dolls, and although it’s not new, I haven’t blogged it before.  Oriana told me that she’ll be releasing something new for the event very, very soon.  I’ll be back to show you that, I’m sure.  So, for now, check out the Striped Pucca dresses, along with the Sonata Boots.

This is the blue version, but the outfit comes in a fatpack of all 8 colors.  This composite shows you some of the options for wearing the outfit – highwaisted skirt, normal waisted skirt, belt, two shades of the top.  Keep that in mind coz for the rest of the colors, I’ll only show you option no. 2 above.

Here are all the other colors (from left to right) – green, pink, black, purple, red, brown, and teal.  With them I’m wearing Dilly Dolls’ Sonata Boots in the dark colors.  These are available at Project FUR as well.

Well, that’s it for now. I’m glad I was able to post these today coz RL has been a bit busier than usual.  I doubt if I’ll have time to post again today, but next up will be Fantasy Faire!  Until then….

Happy hunting, gathering, shopping, donating, etc. *mwah*!
