+++Blue Blood+++ Nina for Horror Haute

Have you heard of Horror Haute?  It’s a monthly sale event that occurs during the last week of the month, showcasing dark and creepy stuff.  But, not everything is horrific, some of the items offered are just goth, and some are even cute. lol  But Ghani’s offering from Blue Blood is girly and goth at the same time.  I’ll show you what I mean.

How cute is this?!  But look closely coz amidst that colorful, flirty outfit are hands covered in dried blood!  Yes, that’s Horror Haute, baby!  I had to wear my awesome Bax boots coz, hey, I paid a fortune for them, and you’re going to have to look at them a few times at least. lol  The piercings are again from HoD, for Horror Haute, but I’ve changed from the silver color to the pomegranate to better matchy matchy.  Speaking of matching, I squealed with delight when I put on this Anarin hair, the newest release from ploom.  New to the ploom line are these cool, streaked, almost-neon colors.  They just sealed the “look” of this outfit for me!  I wish I had taken a pic of the back of this hairstyle.  It has a low-slung pony in back, and the streaked colors look so pretty running throughout.  My cute lolipop and tongue, as well as the poses are from Lolapop (heh, heh – lolipop/lolapop!) for the Starlust Gacha Carnaval.  And would you believe that I had no idea that the HoD piercing included a tongue piercing!  Imagine my surprise when my mouth popped open and voila!  another piercing!  Coool.  Ah, one last thing – those purty purple eyes – they were free with the rez day gift that Boo gave out a few weeks ago for VoiD group members.  Well, hope you enjoyed.  If so, run over to Blue Blood and nab this little number at a very special price before Horror Haute ends.  You’ve got until the 31st!  Oh, just a heads up – Blue Blood *just* moved – be sure to grab the new LM below!

+++Blue Blood+++ Nightly

The latest release from +++Blue Blood+++ is a sexy latex dress with a flirty, wavy short skirt called Nightly.

As I mentioned in my post on the store blog, my favorite part of the outfit is the large bat that covers the bosom of the dress.  Ghani even thoughtfully added nipple shadowing. 😀   The outfit comes with the sculpted shoulder pads and sleeve ends, as well as all system pieces on all layers.  Ghani boxes up those extra layers so you don’t have to clutter your inventory with them if you don’t need them.  Nice!  I’ve paired the outfit with the latest release from ploom, appropriately called Mile High Pony.  It is a very large pony!  I love it!  And it’s mesh so it doesn’t sink into your torso when you move around.  It’s not rigged mesh though, so you can’t adjust it at all. You’ll have to adjust your shape to make it fit properly.  Helyanwe has included a head-hiding alpha though.  Oh, the pretty makeup is one of the three new skin/makeup releases from Matrioska, the skin brand of +++Blue Blood+++.  Ghani has put the makeups separate from the skins, which now come in three different tones.  I love wearing the exotic makeups with my “usual” skins from Illusory.

Here’s the pink version of Nightly.  I’ve added the Fantasy makeup from Matrioska, which not surprisingly matches perfectly with the pink Nightly.  The lipstick is part of the Illusory skin.  Because of the ornateness of the Blue Blood dress, no jewelry was necessary.

+++Blue Blood+++ New Release – Diana

I’ve been crazy busy in RL, grading papers, etc., before the current term ends, but I managed to take a few photos of Ghani’s beautiful new Diana dress recently.  Let me tell you, the better your computer, the more beautiful Ghani’s textures are.  I thought they were perfection on my old desktop, but gazing at them on my new desktop (a/k/a “the Beast”) is mindblowing.

Diana’s distinguishing feature is its large, sculpted tulip shaped skirt.  Yes, you can’t bend too much, but if you have a prim and proper type AO, you’ll have no problem looking regal in this dress.  The underskirt is beautiful, too.  As I mentioned in the post I just did on the store blog, I love the arm warmers.  The texture of the lacing is just yummy.  This time, Ghani has included a little belt that adorns the bodice and a pretty drop necklace.  Both accessories feature a dangling tulip.  The bodice of the corset has a rich paisley pattern.  I was feeling a vampire gothic lolita vibe here, so I decided to wear my Illusory Paige skin in the “Bite Me” makeup – yummy bloody mouth like a freshly fed vamp. 🙂  Oh my goodness, I almost forgot the boots!!  Lassitude & Ennui, one of my favorite shoe and boot designers coz they make wonderful Victorian and gothic styles – all very refined and ornately detailed – has a new release – the Wanderlust Boots.  They come in three colors of meshy goodness – these are black, of course.  They come in several sizes, so one is sure to fit your avatar.  The medium size fits me like a glove (or a boot, rather…lol).

The hair is from Truth – a recent partial mesh release.  The chest portion is mesh so that it doesn’t fall through your body.  Love that!  It’s called Maggie, by the way.  Well, that’s about it.  I’m pretty tired so my brain can’t think of anything else to add.  I can’t wait for the weekend. sigh  Until next time…

Yeah.  Hope you enjoyed my little tale. lol  Anyway, Horror Haute is upon us – a week of sale items from your favorite dark merchants at incredible prices.  This is Blue Blood’s offering – a gossamer silver gown, bespattered with blood, for only L$50, aptly named Snow Blood.  The shirt layer is fully finished in case you want to wear it by itself.  My hair is the new mesh release from Wasabi Pills, and the beautiful necklace is from U&R Dogs and is available at the Festival of Sin.  Oh, the bloody knife, and all the blood spatters on my body do not come with the dress.  They’re all parts of other outfits I picked up over the years.

+++Blue Blood+++ Steam

Hello, lovelies!  I’m back again – twice in one day!  I’m on vacation in case you haven’t heard (read), so I have a bit more time for fun.  So, I’ve returned to show you the latest release from +++Blue Blood+++ called Steam.

This is the “teal” version, which I’ve tricked out with cyber hair from ploom, makeup from Nomine, piercings from Haus of Darcy, and colorful boots from DV8, all of which were already in my inventory (i.e., not new).  Steam is adorned with little gears and has sheer latex gloves and stockings.  The strappy black vest, which comes on a separate layer for easy mixing-and-matching, is traditional black latex.  All of the textures are flawless, as usual.

Steam comes with two skirts – the short lolita/burlesque style worn above, and the tiered ballgown worn below.

Worn with either skirt, Steam is a great addition to your goth or steampunk wardrobe.  Well, that’s about it for now.  I never know how to end my posts. lol  So, I’ll  just say, until next time…

+++Blue Blood+++ Kirsten Special Edition

I had every intention of blogging this a week ago. Then RL intervened, as it so often does. But now, I’m on vacation for a week, so I’ll have more time for fun things. So, Ghani made a special edition of her gorgeous Kirsten goth dress with the sexy burlesque skirt in dark pink for the Juicy Crush on You event, which sadly ends tomorrow. But if you haven’t been yet, there’s still time at least. And there are some wonderful items to be found there, especially if your favorite colors are pink and red.

Isn’t this just gorgeous?! The skin is the beautiful Paige skin from Illusory in the makeup that was released awhile back for another event. This particular makeup suited the dress better than the equally beautiful makeup currently available at Collabor88. The hair is from ploom, of course.  It comes with two parts to prevent the bottom half from falling into your chest.  The cute ciggie is one of the newest items from Virtual/Insanity.  The ciggies come in packs with many different colors, and in both smoked and unsmoked versions.  There’s a special Valentine’s pack with little hearts and a pack with polka dots.  The one I’m sporting here was a Taste of SL sale item awhile back, but they are still available at the store, if you crave hearts on your ciggies. The rings are the latest camping gift from U&R Dogs.  Be a member of the subscriber group, sit in the cute row boat for 10 minutes, and these pretty pink heart rings can be yours.

And I’m back! I have a new computer that lets me run SL without crashing (much). I’m still waiting on my beast rig to come in, but for now the new one let’s me run shadows. Yep. Shadows. \o/

This lovely, slinky black mesh dress was LouLou’s hunt prize for the Where is the Concert Hunt which just ended. (*sad face* sorry I’m late with this.) The jewelry – earrings and bracelets – are also from LouLou and you’ll be able to see them better in the pictures below. The skin is from Illusory for January’s Collabor88, which is available until the 8th.   I just love the Paige skins! Keep those makeups coming, please! The hair is the latest release from ploom, the Lilyan hair, which features asymmetrical bangs and two buns on top. More pics coming up!

The bracelets, including the armband worn on the left, are an updated version of LouLou&Co.’s London Calling set. The shoes are from Nardcotix, which I picked up at the big sale they had last month. You’ll see more Nardcotix shoes in this post. I’ve been without a decent computer for about a month and unable to play as Des, so her inventory is a bit old. But these items are still awesome and maybe you’ll see something here that reminds you to wear these items if you’ve already picked them up. If you’re like me, you probably have stuff in your inventory that you *had* to have, but never get around to wearing. Dust them off and put them on! You spent the time to get them, you might as well enjoy them at least once!

And here’s a closeup of the pretty skin and the jewelry, again with shadows!  (Did you hear me squeal with delight?)  I *love* these rather new earrings from LouLou&Co. They’re called Moulin Rouge and have Eiffel Towers on them! Vive La France! They come in two sizes – I’m wearing the shorter ones so they wouldn’t be hidden in the dress’ shoulder ruffle.

I thought I was done for today when Ghani dropped a folder of +++Blue Blood+++ Gacha items on me. Roxy is a cute little halter style corset that comes in four colors; I was so pleased that the colors matched the LouLou&Co Betty mesh skirts perfectly, so I took some more pics!

First up is the red versions of each. I’ve changed my ploom hair to a lovely red, and donned a brand new skin from Adam n Eve called Amaris. Here I’m wearing the Natural tone bare. You can also see the other LouLou&Co bracelets I was wearing with the Mary dress above. These are called Diamond Rock and are another updated style. Ok, I’m almost done! Here are the other three colors of Betty and Roxy. Don’t those names seem to go together? I picture Betty and Roxy working down at the factory together while their menfolk are off fighting the war. lol

The Betty skirts come in three styles – one has no front seams; the other two have seams and a variations on the waistline. I’m wearing style no. 3 in the red and black skirts; and styles 1 and 2 in the teal and purple skirts. I also added some tattoo layer makeup I found in my inventory to the Adam n Eve skin.

Limping Along on my Craptop

Hello, all you lovely people.  Yes, I am still without a desktop or a computer of any kind that can adequately run SL.  It’s very frustrating to say the least.  For example, I managed to get quite a few of the prizes from a recent hunt, but was unable to take pictures before the hunt ended. lol  Talk about spinning one’s wheels.  So, I’ll continue to limp along until my new Aurora desktop from Alienware comes in.

So, I was able to take some pics of Blue Blood’s newest release, the fabulous Ivonne dress.  You’ll forgive the obvious low quality of my pictures, I hope.

Yep, this is me (Des) and not little Kat.  Actually, it is Kat, but in Des’ shape. The Ivonne dress is quite the bargain because it comes with three different skirt styles for utmost versatility.  This is the flirty lolita skirt.  The jacket is also on a separate layer, so you can choose to wear the dress without the jacket.  One thing I love about Ghani’s designs is that she always creates stocking tops or garters unique to each outfit.  It’s that attention to detail that makes her so special as an SL artist.  Want some details about my outfit?  Well, the hair was the hunt item from Hair Shop Nodoka for the Café Hunt, and the ribbon necklace with color change rose and pearls was the gift from Lassitude & Ennui for the same hunt.  (Yeah, that’s the one that just ended that I referenced above.)  The Gothika skin is a recent gift from [VoiD].  The hot little pink booties were the lucky chair (or board) gift from Crystal line.  The lucky is group only, but the group is free to join.  Crystal line also has several group gifts available in store, including the drop earrings worn above.

1st of 2012 – Blue Blood’s Kirsten – Special Edition

Well, Happy New Year to everyone out there in cyberland!  Where does the time go?  It feels like just yesterday it was January 2011, and here we are in another new year already.  My New Year’s Resolution in terms of SL is to blog more frequently and network a bit more, and continue to stay far away from the drama that is perpetuated by the younger and/or less mature members of the blogger community.  I resolve to constantly remember that I blog primarily for myself, and that if anyone else out there likes what I do, that’s just icing on the virtual cake.  I wish every one of you the best year possible.

Ok, so when I returned to SL after weeks of inactivity (due to RL, etc.), I saw that Ghani had done a black and white version of Kirsten, for Twisted Krissmus – which means that it’s a *steal* at only L$100.  Better news, I discovered that Twisted Krissmus runs through January 6, so it’s not too late to nab this gorgeous outfit from +++Blue Blood+++.  Lookee!  I took some on location pics for you!  (I know I’m such an old-fashioned blogger – almost always shooting studio photos.  That’s another resolution of mine – get out of my photo studio skybox more often!)

Mmmm!  So yummy!  I love it when Ghani does black and white versions of her outfits.  She usually makes them special editions like she did here.  You can see all the other colors of Kirsten further down on my blog – I just love this outfit sooo much!   I also love this rather new asymmetrical hairstyle from Exile, called Callisto.  It’s so sexy, but in real life, I’d constantly be pushing those locks out of my eyes. lol  That’s why I love SL – no aggravations like that.

Nothing else I’m wearing is new – I’ve blogged them all recently – except for the earrings from Virtual/Insanity.  V/I has lots of new things out right now.  These are the Rising Sun earrings in black.  Here’s a studio closeup photo since the lighting and transparent prims on location did not do them justice.

+++Blue Blood+++ – Latest Releases – Dahlia and Coppelia

Hey, Des is bloggin’!  I made the “mistake” of updating my Firestorm viewer last week, and of course, all hell broke loose.  It happens every time I update a viewer.  My main problem was textures not loading.  Makes it kind of hard to blog an outfit when half of it is grey.  Sigh.  So, the problem is (mostly) resolved; I’ve also decided to just work around it as much as possible.

So, last week’s release from Blue Blood was the incredible Dahlia gown.  It comes with three different skirt styles, plus lots of fancy, sculpted add-ons.

The composite above actually shows all three skirts.  The skirt on the far right is open in the front, but you can’t tell from the side.  The sculpted skirt top on the far right skirt can be worn with all the skirts if you wish, or can be worn with just the lingerie undies for an uber-sexy fetish look – think underbust corset, bare bosoms, stockings, garters, and the sculpted skirt piece.  Ooh la la!  I didn’t show you the open front skirt head-on coz my main problem last week was that the textures on the stockings just would not rez!  I tried everything, too.  Ghani even sent me brand new copies, but nothing helped.  So, I just decided to blog the outfit like this.  Ok, here’s a closeup of Dahlia.

This skin is one of the latest releases from Matrioska, Blue Blood’s skin store.  This one is called Domina and comes with and without teeth, and with both black and red lipstick.  With the super-gaunt cheeks, it’s a great goth look.   As usual, the outfit is so opulent that it’s not necessary to accessorize much.  I did choose a wonderfully flamboyant hair from RedMint, called simply enough No. 11, coz of the feathers and skully gothic hairpins.  I think it looks even better with the next Blue Blood release – Coppelia.

I must admit that Coppelia is a new favorite of mine.  It has everything I love in an outfit – great textures, of course, plus an open-front, bustled in the back, burlesque skirt.  It has crow feathers – I love crows!  And it has something unusual and not seen on every other burlesque skirt on the grid – that interesting rope-like layer.  Yeah, my descriptive skills are sucking at the moment.  But you can see what I mean.  A picture is worth a thousand words, yada, yada, yada.

I’m also wearing the Domina skin with the red lipstick, and I’ve addded some sexy, gothic western boots from -=Forsaken=-.  The boots come in two styles – this one colorfully named “Step on My Fuckin’ Boots, I DARE ya!”, and a slightly less kick-ass version called Skull Crusher Boots.  I say slightly less kick ass coz they’re a bit plainer – without the spikey studs and dangly chains.  Oh!  The necklace!  I love this one, too.  It’s from Lolapop! and it’s called Corvus – which is the latin name for crows!  The pendant has a silver crow skull on a black cameo background, and the chain is studded with red stones.  The Corvus set includes earrings, bracelets, the necklace, and the cute little hat worn above – awesome!

Ok, one more pic for you – a closeup of the sexy -=Forsaken=- boots, along with a gratuitious shot of Coppelia, just becoz I really like the pose.  😀
