Sale at Tacky Star

2

Hey, everyone.  I thought I had posted this piece hours ago, but I just discovered it in my drafts folder.  *blinks*  Anyway….

I’m sure most of you have heard about the misfortunes of our beloved Ikaru Aichi of Violent Seduction.  Ikura has been banned by Linden Lab for allegedly copybotting.  What appears to have happened is that  Ikaru reported another avatar for copybotting some of Ikaru’s sculpts, and this other avatar reported Ikaru in retaliation.  The injustice of this situation is that this other avatar has not been banned, but Ikaru has.  sigh.  Anyone who is familiar with the quality of Ikaru’s work will find it as hard to believe as I do that she would ever copybot anyone else’s work.  Why copybot when you can produce textures and sculpts superior to most of what’s in SL yourself??  You can read about the situation directly from Ikaru herself on her blog here.

Because Ikaru’s account is frozen, including all of her lindens, the recently launched Bad Blood sim needs a bit of help paying the upcoming tier.  In response, Aura of Tacky Star has stepped up and is having a 50% off sale throughout her store.  She’s also released a new skin in three tones.  Take a look.

This is the Plain Jane skin which comes in three tones – goth, pale (worn above), and tan.  I’m wearing an awesome coat I found at a small store named “Squeek!” which is located on the Bad Blood sim.  The coat comes with long or short sleeves, long or short tailcoats, and bloody or non-bloody.  That’s four coats for one low price!  I’m wearing the long sleeved, long coat, non-bloody version above.  Did you notice my horns?  OMG.  I found this awesome store that is closing (sad face) named House of  Ruin.  It specializes in unusual eyes and horns.  These just spoke to me (“Buy me Desiree… I’m on sale so cheap…. you know you want me.”)  You get a bunch of colors for like L$50 with multiple attachment points.  You’ll see more of these in my next post, for sure.

Ok.. back to the Tacky Star skin and awesome coat.  Here’s another composite showing the short-sleeved, bloody, short coat.

I’m wearing the goth tone of the Plain Jane skin above, along with Putrid Gloom’s Tippytoe Ponyboots.  She has a satellite store for Show Me on the Doll  on Bad Blood as well.  The hair is part of the jumbo huge enormous fatpack of hair that Posh is giving away at The Rumor.  Grab your alts – you know they need hair, plus they’re probably feeling lonely coz you rarely take them out to play. 😉

One last photo – this is the tan tone of Plain Jane, which is just a bit darker.

You can also get a good view of my awesome Tacky Star Lolligaggers Doll Lashes and my Tacky Star prim eyes, not to mention those awesome horns!  So, you know what to do.  Let’s help out Ikaru and the wonderful folks at Bad Blood and do what we do best – shop!

Happy hunting, gathering, shopping, lovin’ (^ ^), etc. *mwah*!

Remember, I’m on a mission?  A mission to show you some different goth stores that maybe aren’t blogged as much as some others.  Here’s another store that hadn’t made it across my radar until this weekend.  While doing the summer hunt at RFyre, I was exploring the shops in the RFyre mall and discovered BlakOpal.  I didn’t realize that I had bought this awesome dress on sale when I did my weekend post on the hunt.  (spanks her own a**).  So, this dress is no longer on sale, but you should still see it coz the quality is indicative of the clothing at BlakOpal.

This dress is quite amazing  – the layers of skirting with red satin and black lace are very richly textured.  It comes with many pieces to complete this look, including a capelet, cuffs, necklace, bodice, capelet top, glitch pants, gloves, skirt, stockings, underpants, and flexy wings that move so nicely when you walk.

The horns were a perfect accompaniment, I think.  These are also from House of Ruin, which I mentioned in my last post.  Ploom’s new style Iris worked perfectly too, with its color-change streaks.  Sn@tch’s Solstice skins and G Fields amazing short lace-up boots complete the look.  Here’s a closeup.

As I mentioned in my last post, House of Ruin is closing its inworld shops and has placed everything 50% off.  I picked up several sets of these gorgeous Dauphin horns, as well as several packs of Thaumaturge, Android, and Mortis eyes.  Each set of eyes (look for the pillars) has a free trial pair (not a demo).  I’m wearing the Thaumaturge Toxic Anthrax prim and system eyes above.  They really “pop,” don’t they?

Although the dress above is no longer on sale, there are two freebies/dollarbies for ladies and two for men at BlakOpal.  This blue dress is at the mainstore, and there’s a red version at the satellite store at RFyre Isle here.  I’m not sure what the men’s gifts are.  Here’s the lady’s gift you can get at the mainstore.

It comes with three different skirt options – short, long-full, and long-open front.  The white lace against the blue bodice really pops.  Here’s a closeup.  Lookee – my horns are all matchy matchy!

So, take a stroll around the stores of RFyre and then take the limo over to BlakOpal’s mainstore and look around.  You’re bound to find something you like.  As the store information card says, “BlakOpal offers wearable art and specialized pieces for both ladies and gentlemen in Second Life.  Drawing from neo-Victorian, gothic, and steampunk inspirations, Miss BlakOpal Galicia and Mr. TriloByte Zanzibar create works that infuse passion and adventure with just a dash of whimsy.  At the main store,  you will find the complete line of piratewear, menswear, corsets and gowns for ladies and more.”  Best of all, many items are transfer, so you can easily buy someone special something special. 🙂

Happy hunting, gathering, shopping, lovin’ (^ ^), etc. *mwah*!

Dilly Dolls Limited Edition Alice in Wonderland Dresses

1

Dilly Dolls is part of the Fashion Fest for RFL and placed 8 limited edition dresses in the RFL vendors for L$250 each.  The dresses are a tribute to Oriana’s favorite director, Tim Burton, and feature images from Burton’s Alice in Wonderland.  The Mad Hatter, Cheshire Cat, and White Rabbit dresses are sold out, but I’ll show you the 5 dresses that are still available at the time of this post – White Queen (going fast), Tweedles, Queen of Hearts, Alice (get it while you can), and Absolum.  (Click to make it bigggger.)

Left to right – Queen of Hearts, Absolum, Tweedles, Alice, and White Queen

Check out the shoes.  They are the Velma heels – another new release from Dilly Dolls, and they are really nice.  They come in either dark or light tones and are color change and resizeable via touch.  Plus, you get several “shine” options on the shoes, which changes the colors even more.  The result is a staggering amount of color choices.  The skin choices for your feet are preset to Dilly Dolls’ skintones, but Oriana has also included a separate coloring HUD for more skin options.

Like my horny hair?  😉  Violent Seduction released this cutey with little horns of hair, appropriately named “Pan.”  Ikaru has also updated the way she packages hair, so for the same price, you will get almost double the colors in the “Colour” pack.  She’s also added two browns (dark brown worn with Tweedles above)  and two blondes (dark blonde worn with Absolum above)  to the Naturals pack.  The hair is also now scripted for texture and resize.  The Colours Pack now includes purple, dark purple, dark teal, light teal (worn with Alice above), light pink, dark pink, red (worn with Queen of Hearts above), blue, indigo, dark blue, and green.  The Natural Colours Pack includes brown, dark brown, black, white (worn with White Queen above), blonde, and dark blonde.  The Pastel Colours Pack includes blue, green, pink, teal, and purple.  Here are a few more colors of Pan…

Pan – Pink, Blue, and Green (Pastel Colours Pack)

Pan – Indigo and Dark Teal (Colours Pack)

Ok, one more thing before I go.  Dilly Dolls also released a group gift today – a white version of the Kammy dress.  Now, if you’re not a member of the group, you’ll have to wait to join until this gift is removed.  But it’s a great incentive to join the group and stay.

Happy hunting, gathering, shopping, lovin’ (^ ^), etc. *mwah*!
