Lapointe and Bastchild

Although it’s always fun to find new stores that have amazing creations, I try to remember to check in on the bastions of SL fashion every now and then.  You know the stores I mean – the one’s that have been around for years despite our crazy inworld economy.  For any store to last more than a couple of years, it must have amazing talent behind the brand, and someone dedicated to SL beyond the norm.  One of those such stores is Lapointe & Bastchild.  Now, I’ve been an SL resident for almost four years now, and I still remember my squeals of joy when I first discovered L&B.  I have to give them credit for beginning my ongoing love affair with SL goth/vampire fashion.  I’m happy to say that L&B’s creations have kept up with the times, too.  Their textures have evolved to keep up with the latest trends and the latest technology, ensuring that their products remain top-quality.  Yet, their prices are totally reasonable.  Is it any wonder L&B is still going strong?

So, today I’m going to show you several items I picked up at L&B earlier this week.  Only one item is “new” but all items are among the newer releases.  Enough chatter!  On with the pics….

I love, love, love this leather jacket.  It comes in lots of different styles, but I had to have this Morte skull motif version.  It’s full of sculpty parts, but it was a dream to fit with the scripted resizer.  The skirt is also fairly new – the S’Wear Candy Buckled Mini with color-change leather band/buckles.  This skirt is so versatile that it can be worn with many different colored tops.  The skirt comes with the fishnets, too.  The Black Patent Elise boots are the newest item from L&B.  For one price, you get both the knee boots shown here, as well as an ankle boot version.  Paul Lapointe’s boot textures are just delicious.  He’s one of the top goth boot designers on the grid, I think.  These items are part of the new S’Wear line, which features goth wear that is more on the punk side – edgier than some of the earlier apparel sold at the store.  However, there are still many amazing formal gothic dresses and suits to be found at L&B.  I confess I drooled over some of the gothic wedding dresses;  they are just sumptuous.  If only I could find my vampire groom. :/

The hair was a happy bit of serendipity.  As I was putting together my L&B outfit, Wasabi Pills dropped this hair on me.  At first I thought it wouldn’t quite work, but a few clicks on the color-change headband, and I was sold.  You know how much I love to “matchy matchy.”  As I said in my last post, I am currently having a love-affair with Wasabi Pills’ hair. 😀  Finally, the necklace is a fairly recent item from LouLou&Co.  It’s the Crazy Coco Purple necklace that was part of the Platinum Hunt prize.  I just love Lolly Carlberg’s creations and will find any excuse to wear her stuff.

Oh, before I go, here’s an obligatory closeup for y’all.  Enjoy the detail of the jacket – isn’t it amazing?!

Happy hunting, gathering, shopping, etc. *mwah*!

Items marked with an * denote review items.  Muchas gracias, merci beaucoup, and many thanks to the wonderful designers who support my acquisitive obsession with SL fashion!
